the last pic is of the resistor next to an aaa battery.

sorry katie is still in the recovery room, i’m cleaning up some scratches in the rear guard b4 re-assembling her.

i got mine from here http://www.virtualvillage.com/Motorbike-Accessories/

they say buy in Oz, but they’re half the price of any here, and post is just as fast, took about a week to turn up and i’m in a rural area and only get mail mon, wed&friday.

as for wiring it up i test fitted them as per your pic 3, not work. so i ended up as per your 1st pic. i never give it a thought to running it “inline” with the earth of the indicators. the pack did come with two in it. and the add reckoned that you fit them to both sides, but i thought to just fit it in the power out side of the flasher.

yeah apparently, i’m lead to believe the new bikes that have them factory fitted are all in the one unit. i bought a relay/ flasher cam off fleabay, it is supposed to correct the amp draw so they flash at the right rate. but it is only suited to most Jap bikes. so the seller told me.

his unit dose not work with non-jap makes for some reason.

from memory the flasher cam worked if i pulled the idiot/dash light repeater out, as all 4 lights would flash all at once. i think it even did the same with the load resister and the dash light fitted= all the lights flash at once.:S

i’ll call a few guys tomorrow and i’ll post what they say.

yeah Andrew Bane is a top bloke.

do you know where Peter Clarke ended up?

well i know very little about 2 stroke bikes and trust what others tell me, within reason, until i’m set straight.

Thanks for the welcome and info!

ABS said that because i have a 20-30 km commute to where we ride and to the river. a std spec/ jetting would not be the best for road speeds. and they would have set the jetting to suit before i would have taken delivery.

and the seller never told me that if you ride in the hills you need to hold a percentage of throttle on decent to avoid leaning out the big end too much, and apparently the same goes for deceleration.

the dealer that “fixed” the bike “Guaranteed that it would not seize again” after the re-build and re-jetting so suit my needs.

but i would not trust them any more than i trust a hungry dog to watch over my sangers!

Yep, unimaginative me. my carry over name from a car forum. Blood type = blue oval, an XY and 78 Transit owner ( both waiting for the operating theater to be available ) + lots of projects.

so many forums, i could not think of a good suitable name for each and every forum.

so one username fits all ;)

hmmm not much wrong with the exc 300’s power, stopping or handling.

Just the W@n**rs at the dealership! KTM Aust. never contacted me back when i emailed them over my bike seizing after only 23 hrs / 1300 kms.

they promptly called the closest dealer to me and started ripping it into them, as i should Never have been sold a 2 smoker in the first place!

but the dealer closest to me is not the one that sold me the 300!

the dealer happily blamed my use of stale fuel, “it had evaporated, leaving the mix too rich”, fresh mix that day just before the ride, all of 60-70kms round trip to the river!

    gladly ( “looked after me” ) shafted me out of 6 weeks income= pensioner );

admittedly 1/3 of the cost was a $550-600 cylinder repair and re-niklesil.

i’m not naming names as someone my know them and be related to or friends with them. and they may be the best blokes about.

however it is not ABS Motorcycles in Bendigo.

and i think that ends the rant.
