Don’t forget i’m on this ride Menace
just as long as there’s no XY hills
you shouldn’t have to ride Katii too far for me.
i honestly could not fault the PDS in my 03 300
i fitted a heavier spring, from memory a .44 or 4.4
but being your average run of the mill weekend hack, i reckon it wasn’t going to pose any real issues for me..
or maybe it was the fact of the extra weight holding it down was to my advantage??? :S :silly: 😆 😆
my appreciation has to go to my folks…
the amount of issues they’ve had to put up with over the past 14 years
mine and on top of that my old man surviving (can’t say coping) 3 prolapsed discs for 10 years and not being as mobile as he wishes.
i was looking at pulling out of Menace’s return ride due to a possible lack of funds. they were going to lend me the money so i could attend. (most likely at the expense of something they could do with.)
Plus i got a new oil skin vest :woohoo: ‘cos the old one had a run in with a sharp object, i said just mend my old one. but a new one it was
THANKS FOLKS!!!
As usual. i have aimed too high and fallen flat on my butt
my bike trailer will not be done in time
however i will just have to use my old man’s.
i did get a batch of r/r done. and if i have time will do up some wheat free rolls for Saturday’s lunch.
i aim to be at the c/p by friday arvo, but no idea when.
looking forward to seeing Menace astride his beloved Kato again!! :woohoo:
i’m running BYTR ones on my 640 at the moment
… however that’s of no use to you JAK :S so i guess my post is of the usual value of one of my posts…
No worries Roy, i’m happy to share the knowledge i don’t have
but if it was overfull and with the conditions of the PE, the fluid may have been getting hotter than usual, and expanding, which would create the extra pressure in the system.
i’m not sure, someone with more info may straiten me out. but dose clutch and or brake fluid loose it’s ability to cope with heat etc. as it gets older??
there are brake fluid reservoir extenders and brake slave cylinder heat sinks to help keep the brake fluid a bit cooler for the same reason as it gets hot and holds pressure on the rear brake.
maybe if it presents with the problem again. change the fluid and bleed it and see what happen from there.
:X  BOONY!!
PLEASE GO FOR A RIDE!!!! PLEASE!!!!
:S
.
😆 :cheer:
Hi Bundy, from memory on my 03 300 there was an adjuster on the leaver?? it can be adjusted out so it just rests against the master cylinder plunger. if it has crept inward with vibration and movement over time it may be holding enough pressure on the master cylinder to pressurise the system.
there would be a minimal amount of free play as such . but just enough so that when you first pull in the clutch it progressively puts pressure at the slave cylinder/clutch end.
basically so that it dose not fully disengage the clutch with little movement pulling in the clutch leaver.
if there is no adjuster on your clutch leaver, i’m not sure how you’d go about fixing the problem.
hopefully some of the more knowledgeable guys will be after their ride(s) and shed more light on the problem for you.
Plastic!??!? bash plate??
the Indian production plant is up and running already then…. :S
  :silly:
i’m with aaron, maybe drop the bash plate off and take it for a spin up the road, and see if there is a difference in the noise.
as my 640 was the same, when i first bought it. the shop did not have a plate on hand, they posted it to me. it deflected so much engine noise i got worried
TB’s foam under the bashplate is a two fold purpose, 1: to stop the mud, dirt and stones from getting in there and 2: to dampen the noise deflection/ amplification.
would i be correct in saying that valves that need checking, would sound more like pinging than a knocking sound??
well aido there’s mount Brogden up there.. we could organise a ride up there. and pick it up at the same time :woohoo:
yeah aido it’s near Yoogali, Bilbu and Binya
.
you spoiled all the fun Jeffro
hey menace, grant’s got other things on, and i doubt we’d have got his ride sorted and rego’d in time… but he is keen for a ride sometime..
as soon as his bike is sorted i’ll post up an EOI intro ride with a weekend in mind, and see who and where. hoping sooner than later
If Drewpy’s car plays nice form now until then and he gets his newly acquired 2nd hand bike trailer is rego’ed.
he will treat K8ii to a dirty weekend at Newry
just used the online CTP calculator and my Bro’s 248cc smoker will be the same price as my 625cc bike. $277. from memory that’s about a $100 hike on the 250 and about a $100 drop from mine. looks like 226-725cc are all same price for the cc category for our area and riders over 30.
as all the other larger capacity riders are saying great for us, but a $100 hike all in one go is a bit hard to swallow.
as in another thread the RTA had no knowledge of the price rise, so it seems it’s the insurance companies that have re-evaluated/ changed the prices.
