    I’ve been roaming around
Always looking down at all I see
Painted faces, fill the places I cant reach

You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody

Someone like you, And all you know, And how you speak
Countless lovers under cover of the street

You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
    Someone like you

Off in the night, while you live it up, I’m off to sleep
Waging wars to shape the poet and the beat
I hope it’s gonna make you notice
I hope it’s gonna make you notice

    Someone like me
    Someone like me
    Someone like me, somebody

My pappy said “Son your gonna drive me to drinkin’
If you don’t stop drivin’ that Hot Rod Lincoln”

Have you heard the story of the hot rod race
Where the Fords and Lincolns were settin’ the pace?
That story is true I’m here to say
I was drivin’ that model A.

It’s got a Lincoln motor and it’s really souped up
That a Model A body makes it look like a pup
It’s got eight cylinders and uses ’em all
    Got overdrive, just won’t stall

With a four barrel carb and dual exhausts
With four-eleven gears you can really get lost
Got safety tubes, but I ain’t scared
The brakes are good, the tires fair

Pulled out of San Pedro late one night
And the moon and the stars were shining bright
We was drivin’ up Grapevine Hill
Passin’ cars like they was standing still

All of a sudden, in the wink of an eye
A Cadillac sedan passed us by
I said, “Boys, that’s a mark for me!”
By then the tail lights was all you could see

Now the fellas ribbed me for being behind
So thought I’d make the Lincoln unwind
Took my foot of the gas and man alive
I shoved it on down into over drive

    Wound it up to a-hundred-and-ten
My speedometer said that I hit top end
My foot was glued like lead to the floor
That’s all there is and there ain’t no more

Now the boys all thought that I’d lost my sense
And telephone poles looked like a picket fence
They said “Slow down, I see spots!”
The lines on the road just looked like dots

    Took a corner, Side-Swiped a truck
Crossed my fingers just for luck My Fenders was clickin’ the guard rail posts
The guy beside me was white as a ghost

Smoke was coming from outta of the back
When I started to gain on that Cadillac
Knew I could catch him, I thought I could pass
Don’t ya know by then we’d be low on gas?

Had flames comin’ from outta the side
Feel the tension, man what a ride
I said “Look out boys, I’ve got a license to fly”
And that Caddy pulled over and let us by

Now all of the sudden she started to knockin’
And down in a dips she started to rockin’
I looked in the mirror, a red light was blinkin’
The cops was after my Hot Rod Lincoln

They arrested me and they put me in jail
And called my pappy to throw my bail
He said “Son, you’re gonna to drive me to drinkin’
If you don’t stop drivin’ that Hot Rod Lincoln”

‘m a road man, a load man, eighteen wheels and a serious plan
Ain’t nothin’ gonna go gettin’ outta hand while I’m behind the wheel
I’m on fire, and I’m wired, full of diesel and ready for hire
I’m buildin’ a rollin’ empire of blood, sweat and steel

I don’t waste time, I make time, tearin’ a strip off the white line
I’m a professional man, I’m one of a kind, and I know how to bring it in
I’ve got a clean slate in five states, and twenty-nine that ain’t so great
Fourteen that’ll have to wait, and two I’ve never been

I’m a road hammer, a white knuckled steel gear jammer
Rig jockey highway slammer, I’m just doin’ what I gotta do
I’m a road hammer, double talkin’ CB grammer
Haul your load from Alabama all the way to Timbuktoo

I’ve hauled the left coast, the west coast
California sun where they’re chillin’ the most
Follow 309 Teddy Bears ghost, All the way to New Orleans
I’ve been from Thunder Bay, to PA
All the way down to FLA, And every little town along the way
    There ain’t much that I haven’t seen

I’m a road hammer, a white knuckled steel gear jammer
Rig jockey highway slammer, I’m just doin’ what I gotta do
I’m a road hammer, double talkin’ CB grammer
Haul your load from Alabama all the way to Timbuktoo

    Bridge:Another day, another town
    Diesel up, and hammer down

    DUM-DE-DE-DUM, DE-DE-DUM-DE-DE-DUM, DE-DAA-DAAAAA
    DUM-DE-DE-DUM, DE-DE-DUM-DE-DE-DUM, DE-DAA-DAA-DAA-DAA-DAAAA!

Well, I walk into the room
    Passing out hundred dollar bills
And it kills and it thrills like the horns on my Silverado grill
And I buy the bar a double round of crown
    And everybody’s getting down
An’ this town ain’t never gonna be the same.

    (Chorus:)
Cause I saddle up my horse
And I ride into the city
I make a lot of noise
    Cause the girls
    They are so pretty
    Riding up and down Broadway
    On my old stud Leroy
    And the girls say
Save a horse, ride a cowboy.
    Everybody says
Save a horse, Ride a cowboy

just an update to clear up a few thing.

Firstly, a BIG THANKS to all for your support!! the posts here and the PM’s!!

they are the only reason i have decided to return for the time being.

as i posted in the Kenda thread, which was where my above decision was influenced to be made.

the decision to leave OBT wasn’t because of the fun had over a pic of me, nor was it because of what was posted on the public forum!

my decision was mostly made due to my mental health which is screwed up at the best of times. the main factor in my decision, but it was also made because of what happened off screen that i thought i best leave as i had too often produced an out come like is alluded to in my signature .

6 days to go!!! anyone else gettin butterflys?

no worries Dick, look forward to meeting the OBTs that i have not met yet, and catching up with those i have before ;) B)

just thought i may take a moment to clarify, the XY Tantrum Tread );); was not due to anything anyone had posted on the public forum, nor because of the jest/fun/laugh over a pic of me, you may know i’ll a good old laugh and even at my own expense, and i know the pic was for just a laugh, not to belittle/attack or denigrate me.

if you cannot laugh at yourself well.. :(

sadly i did make the decision to leave the site due to the state of my mental health. (about as stable as a jar of jellyfish) and was also made because of the goings on off screen.

albeit a rash/ rushed decision, i for the moment have decided to put to the back of my mind and will be here for the time being.

Honda Silver paint code for my xr400 is R-134 on the sub-frame sticker and hammerite silver smooth is a near perfect match.

copy and pasted from : http://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/466007-post8.html

seems like there may be a sticker with the code on it? or is that just a UK thing?

    what year is your bike?
