i too think the mid pipe looks a bit cumbersome, but must work or they would not have released the bike the way it is.

have you looked into the stuff you can do yourself? only cost you some time.

may be look into a teeth or two bigger on the rear for now, until you get the suspension sorted. give you that bit more punch out of corners etc.

I don’t believe a bike made 6 years ago has only covered 86Km. If he was at the Watagan’s rally when he won the KTM was he not riding the XR650? Why eould anyone go to the effort of spending the extra coin on motard rims and a pipe for a bike they’ve hardly ever ridden?

Sorry, but I just can’t see it. I put more road K’s on my bike the day I got it than that 6 year old XR supposedly has……

do you actually read the full posts? :P

he supposedly won the 450 and i’d say swapped it for a then new 650R.

as for spending extra $$ for motard rims .

it could be like when Immigration let you in to Aus.= it Seemed like a GOOD idea AT the time!

    top stuff Dusty ;)

    good to get the confirmation.

hope the owner finds someone that like us, now knows it’s genuine km’s/ history etc. to hand over the $$$ not a dodgy speedo swap/ tamper job.

and not discredit the seller’s integrity and honesty,

as i was sceptical about the bike’s history, until a few said they know of the guy and bike.

out of interest, he obviously had a bike to ride? as he hasn’t ridden the new bike.

ps XY These welders have a copper core and are pretty damn basic(which is good)I have a $8000 dollar Lincoln for the good stuff ;)

Chris the Cattledog on the website is for next week, the verniers will be in the shop tomorrow.

    Ollie

yeah i didn’t mean the core, but was under the impression that the other parts were to be watched, where the leads are attached?

the electrode is a bit sus and the earth and work lead could have been a little longer, but for $100 you cannot complain too much!

just be careful with the welder, we bought one almost 12 months ago, my uncle said the cheaper welders are a printed circuit board.

if the rod sticks it can burn the PCB track.

not had any issues with ours yet. but it dose take some skill and practice to get the rod to strike a good stable arc.

it dose not like cheap rods either.

where as the BOC inverter is a breeze to use cheap rods well.

if it’s rattley after only 6 months since rings and inlet valves.

sounds like you need to talk to a mechanic.

where the tolerances/ piston to cylinder clearance, gudgeon pin checked when the rings were done?

how many km’s/hrs is on it?

have you had it since new?

what kind of rattle is it making, higher/ tinny or lower/ knocking pitch, and when?= high rpm, cold?

bit hard to make a diagnosis without hearing it 1st hand.

best find a reputable KTM dealer and ask them what the problem is.

if it’s the bigend, flogging it will cost you a new crank, conrod and possibly lead to needing cases too!

not just new piston, top end reco. etc.

have you had the cam/ timing chain tension checked?
