sorry chris, i thought it was funny.
anyway, welcome along! enjoy this fine site.
nar your seeing things mich!
you are correct the pic of mickp has the thermo switch fitted. the one scott-tisco posted dose not seem to have it, just a bung/ block off .
once the hose is replaced, would a heat shield like they flog on ebay lessen the radiant heat transfer?
could the tune of the bike affect the temp the pipe runs at?
has the bike with the prob been moded apart from the muffler?

hmmm 14 minutes a day?
it’s not impossible.
only takes one of the other riders to have a similar issue and Ben could be 5min ahead.
what about team ECKS!?!?!?!?!
if we’re riding sunday i’ll be staying sunday night too.
my 1st thought is to helli coil it.
it would be drilled to the size needed and tapped to fit the coil,
and if they use a jig of sorts it should be square again, and you retain your original drain bolt.
at worst you may have to get someone to weld up the hole and re drill it.
i wonder if you could use 2 washers, 1 against the case, 1 against the bolt and use some alloy epoxy between the washers, do it up just firm, let it set.
the only issue with this is you would have to get the washer in the right place each time you change the oil.
the other option is to put the epoxy on the case, put the washer and bolt in again just firm, let it set and it should be right from then on.
just an update of sorts.
i will be unable to attend this fine ride.
maybe i’ll have my own car again for the snow.
2009 safari = Team ECKS / Dave / Husky:woohoo:

so i’m not out much as don’t like riding on my own as much as i used to. + not a huge area to ride in.
neither have i met any old bulls in the flesh yet.
will have to wait till the snow.
