the Hyosong gt 650 is basically a Suzi sv? 650 engine.

and from mem. the bike books a while ago had some of the engine cases and the webbing to support the bearings etc was of top quality.

and i think Hyosong started out in the early-mid 80’s casting / tooling gear up for Suzi and then bought their out dated patterns , patents etc and branched out into their own bikes while still working for Suzuki.

i’ll now have to go look at the specs on this quad thingy.

found xrx 125 in qld with reg click this bit here :)

    hi Ace,

good to read your gettin a bike;)

the only thing i can think of looking for is a scratched swing arm;)

    :P😛 :P :P :P

if it starts easy with the kick= valves don’t need adjusting, if it’s noisy/rattely when running.

also if it blows blue smoke once it’s hot/ been running for a while.

maybe look at the bottom of the engine cases for damage, same for under the rear guard= maybe flipped, ends of the bars/ bark busters/ muffler, exhaust pipe= been dropped- slid along on its side.

hope you get some real, useful info soon.

    Welcome along! first WA member?

    >>>my personal 2c value ( and what do you get for 2c anyway:laugh: )

i’d go for the KTM 400/ 450 over the 525. the 400/450 have roller rockers/ valve levers the 525 dose not. 625/640 have rollers also.

but go into the bike shops and explain your situation and you’re not going to buy a bike unless you can have at least a 1/2 hr test ride.

means you may get a 2-5 yr/o bike for the test. but if they won’t come at that they don’t really want you to buy from them.

in the end it’s Your money and You have to ride it.

but by the sounds of it any of the 400-450’s on offer would suit, possibly something like a Honda CRM 250 2T self oiler could be something to consider?

but may finally come down to how the bike feels for you while riding it. e.g. seat height, h/bar position. basically why i would choose a 640 over an XR 650, apart from valve gear.

    keep us updated;)

    Hey Ollie,

why dose more than 750mAh ruin the bike batt.?

is the one you use like the ones KTM and Ducati offer?

=you fit an external plug to the batt. and plug into that instead of alligator clips on the terminals.

got me thinking, now i’ll have to double check the amp output.

yeah should be fine, as long as it’s got an auto trickle charge, which most do anyway.

i use an elcheapo with the auto trickle and not had any issues.

my 2c beatle, i had an 03 300 kato, i run penrite enduro in the g/box, had no issues .

i run it in all my bikes, current 02 640 and a 2000 M600, even my old mans yami ag 200.

the penrite is not the cheapest but @ $38.00 for 4L it’s not the dearest either.

i tend to agree with TB on ATF in a manual box, 😆

however the ford guys run a small amount of ATF in the old 4spd it aids with smoother shifts.

but a late model motorcycle box is far from a single rail or toploader!

dose the price of the rego go on the GVM of the trailer or the tare weight?

but hot gal and alloy box at 160kg/6×4 , no broken back to move it around when unhooked!

an 8×5 would be flat out being 50-80kg more than the weight of the 6×4.

do the klx suffer the same as the klr?

i know the klr has to be checked/adjusted regularly.

a friend has a mid 90’s klr, you know it’s time to do them when it won’t start on the kicker but will push start.

yeah i spoke to JAK about anglesea.

sounds like if not sure where you’re going could lead to being lost, but what’s new:laugh:

and would have to drive back over the range to get to the ride.

big4 at anglesea is $40 a night for powered site.

angahook holiday camp, or Sokil art camp right in where the ride will be, but not sure of accom. for just one person, may do some calling tomorrow.

could camp here and ride to unload point.

i have a good swag and doonah that was more than adequate at Philip Island for the superbikes and GP a few years back. so reckon i’d be right.
