police just kicked protesters out of the forest. chained themselves up a tree via log skidder. the private owner could not even take it and work elsewhere.
there is supposed to be a rare parrot in the red gums.
they want all logging stopped that has been sustained for the past 150 years.
while camping in the forest to protest they were burning red gum in the camp fire.
Now all i have to do is get a pic of the 150 ft tabletop at louee,
get Chris72a to photoahop that in instead of the rock,
and i’ll have some awesome postcards to send to the grandkiddies!
:woohoo:
i have seen some of the HID globes on ebay from china for cheap as. but ? quality!
you can get the wiring kits from jaycar 09 catndog page 284/ altronics? no findy in book, and the like for around the $100 mark.
Yeah THANKS Boony.
as i said though i did not / don’t offer for praise.
just that i can do it.
and after my RANT on the rate a trady gets. i like to save someone some $$ if and where posable.
especially when the price of some of the stuff Moto had put some time and effort into finding, i feel that some are prone to gouge the buyer just because they can as they seem to be the only one that offers something in that particular market.
now i don’t know where the other 2 karma come from?
oh well thanks to those that feel i was deserving of it.
Someone moved it while i was typing . i and my reply was left behind:blush:
Hi TB,
i know i may seem to be harping on/ nagging a bit. = all my offers to fix any OB’s gear.
( not for promoting myself nor to look like i’m such a top bloke,
i just want to help out where i can, and save someone a $ or 2 is a bonus. +
a compensation for all having to put up with me on the forums)but if you have a spare headlight bracket you can send me i could make you up something like the one in your post pics.
if you can get some cheap lights from a wrecker or on sale i’d do up a bracket to suit.
all for the cost of materials/ consumables only. e.g. tig alloy filler rods @ $1 ea. as for argon i have no idea how many litres are in a bottle, so i’d just wear the cost of that.
also if you wanted your rear hub fixed where the bearing fits in, you’d deed to send it with a bearing so the hole could be matched for size.
i don’t have a professional workshop or the latest tools but will have a crack at anything within my abilities! and tool resources. and about as efficient as an apprentice
so as for the above offer i believe i can do both.
anyway PM me if you are interested.
moved to catch up with the thread in the tech thread.
this one can be deletedB)

our, well mine anyway, main gripe is not that the shops charge the $70+/hr.
it is the examples we are seeing told here of the seeming minority? that make all shops look bad.
i for 1 am glad the likes of fossil threw their hat in the ring and cleared up a few things. i for 1 did not expect the insurance to do road worthy tests to be $30k!!
yes i had forgotten to take into account the worker’s super.
and when you get shops like our only bike dealer that believe that their brand IS the Only bike to buy, and will try to talk you into buying a bike THEY think is the only bike for me.
now one of the owners told me that because of my size, height And weight that i could not ride a bike under 1000 cc.
now i have got a 583 cc v twin. that dose all i want and more!
as for a off road bike they told me i needed their brand of 650. without really listening to what my wants/ NEEDS are.
and now since owning my own road reg. bikes i realise that if i say i would consider a 250 and admit that it was a compromise and would be willing to live with my choice.
they flat out tell me that my choice IS / WILL be wrong. and you WILL be disappointed etc. etc.
do you get the home hardware adds with the dogs saying that some staff think advice is reading from the box or brochure?
this same dealer tried to sell me their flagship 450 just from reading me the specs on the paper.
yes that makes a lot of sense!
more than my temp diff theory!
yes well a 690 tard would be nice and FUN! or for on road/track something like the aprilia 550.
and for the bush i’d like to have a go at a big bore 2T. 360+
yes i too have to ? the rego thing. as would most NSW old bull’s when considering what bike to go to.
i’ve got it! a Maico 700:woohoo:
to add to that AB, i have a 91 ltd V8. duel fuel.
now it died in the main street and would not start.my bro a diesel mechanic, looked at it but not really know. we sprayed wd40 down the airflow meter it fired and died.
so we knew the injectors were not working.
took it to ford, begrudgingly. they said i needed to reco the ceu and had to replace the lpg converter as it would not run on gas.
it starts on petrol as most if not all efi cars do, it has an electronic switch that changes it over to lpg at 1500 rpm.
so if it dose not start on petrol it will not run on lpg, makes sense if you ask me!
they quoted me 500 min. for the ecu and 350 for the converter. + their hr rate to remove/refit.
i tried a wrecker, he sent me to a mechanic shop, they sent it to a specialist in Melb. ecu fixed 320 including post each way.
converter is still working just fine!
so where was all the extra cost?!?!?!?! apart from the workshop hr rate.
and after that the auto played up, went into what they call limp home mode= 3rd, reverse and nothing else.
the same ford dealer supposedly did the on board diagnostic and said that a solenoid needed replacing, 600 for part on it’s own.
i called a guy we used in past 2 hrs away, he said up front he had no idea and would call another guy in Melb. came back with the answer that in the whole time as an auto trans specialist had never replaced that particular solenoid.
after another call to an ecu specialist, it ended up being the earth wire had come loose in the connector on the ecu.
auto still works as it should.
i still wonder what the mechanic would have done after replacing the solenoid and still had the problem!!
