okay help me do the web link thing!

hi, i have tried to post links in posts, but they only seem to work when someone fixes it.

i could not find a thread tutorial :unsure:

i’ve copy and pasted what moto fixed in the look at what i bought thread, but no matter what i try/ do i cannot get a link to work.

could someone Please post a step by step tutorial?

It’s hard to give a visual example of how to do a link beacuse if you type the code in a post it tries to make the link and you can’t see it!

The basic way to make a link is as follows:

1. Copy the address for the page you want to link.
2. Open up your new post in OBT.
3. Click on the URL button at the top which then inserts the brackets and boarcode into your post.
4. Paste your website address in between the two sets of brackets
5. Submit your post.

It should look like this [url*]www.insertaddresshere.com[/url*]. NB:- The stars are not required, do not type them in. I have only done this so the clever OBT program doesn’t automatically make it a link

XY – Have a go at this in this thread, if it doesn’t work just leave it there and I will have a look and tell you what you are doing wrong

By the way XY eBay links are not as straight forward as this which is why you had a problem in your other thread. This is an eBay thing not an OBT thing.
