The way I done it.

I set myself a date that I would be stopped smoking by because I couldnt do it cold turkey.This date was a couple of months down the track.
I also said that I would spend the money I would have spent on smokes to buy my brand new DRZ400. However I said that I would have to be smoke free for 6 weeks before I bought the bike,I smoked 20ish a day for 25 years and I am now a non smoker and I own a DRZ400 that was brand new when I bought it,(not that you would know)so it worked for me, I also told me riding buddies my plan so I would have to do it, as they where all non smokers and the would let me know I failed.

yep I did lick the patches ,even think I rolled one up and tried lighting it at one stage
