Hairy Mayor,,
that has a ring to it.. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Ok now for my ride report.
I picked crash 2 up at 6.00am and we went to our normal meeting place expecting to meet Bollocks, House and a few other. Well bugger me if we didn’t have a cast of thousand, well that’s what it seemed like with all the vehicles there and they just kept coming!
We unloaded at our normal spot, had the standard safety/corner man speech (more about that later) and we were off.
We hit sh$t hill and that bought quite a few undone, and a WR not wanting start didn’t help the cause.
We led the non thrill seekers around an alternate route and met up with the others at the start of the singles.
Tracks where loamy and in pristine condition but surprisingly there was not a lot of water lying around considering all the rain we have had.The pace along the first single was sweet; I even overtook a few and had some games in the middle of the pack.
We hit the pine singles and that’s where the ride started to go a bit pear shaped.
There is this one new hill that tested us all and Bollocks was at the top doing what he does best, being a caring soul and helping others that where struggling to make it up when the good old XR decided it was tired and had a lay down all by its self, trash one clutch lever (yes it had bark busters). Once every one was through we told them to meet us at the end of the track and we set about repairing the XR.Clutch kind of dodged up we completed the single, House told me he had spare lever so I decided that I would lead Aaron ( now on the XR) along the main road and meet up at was is now being know as repair corner.
XR re,repaired and we where off. This is where somebody didn’t listen at the start of the ride regarding the corner man system. One of the young fellas shot to the lead on his WR 450 and I watch him as he belted past a vital turn and disappeared into some thing that resembled a track. I set off to catch him and the others missed the next turn as well.
20 minutes later we regrouped and we set off towards the berry patch. New logging tracks and some fallen timber made this part of the ride interesting. We had lunch at the berry patch and it was decided that I was to be the lead and that we had to keep with the corner point system.
Well the pace was on from the onset, and I found the zone and the ride back to the cars was brilliant, the corner system worked brilliant and the ride flowed unbelievably.I can not remember all the names of the guys but there was 14 of us and we had a ball ,,all except for the poor bloke on the other DRZ that lost his truck key out of his fender bag.
Thanks Bollocks for organizing such a great ride.
Go the MO
