Finally caught up with Burgs at work this arvo (he is on arvo shift) and talked briefly about his Finke experience,
He loved it to bits I think, was quietly stoked with his results (who wouldn`t be ???) but reckons his CRF was not performing at it`s best !!!
Prologue was, quote, “Easy & Fast”
Sat run was, quote, “Easy to ride as long as you were consistent”
Sun return run was a, quote “Bastard 4 hr run but still happy to finish”His `06 CRF450 apparently had valves playing up somewhere towards the end of day one, thing had closed up after the finish & would not start, so he only changed the Air Filter, didn`t worry about the Oil Change etc as he , quote “Had the SHITS & went to bed”
Sunday morning, had to tow start the bike with a ute, try & keep it runing lined up on the start (it boiled over a couple of times, so he had to stop it but managed to keep it warm enough to re start,,,,, Then rode it like he stole it to get it home to Alice & finish in great position
He reckons the event overall is pretty easy, as long as you pace yourself (prepare your ride better)
Just had to keep it upright & watch your lines etcHe is a pretty cool customer for a young bloke, and I hope he has another crack next year
I was looking at those a while back, reckon they are a great addition for bike or even the car on trips ,,,
Good old Steve at Adventure Moto looked after me today with a great price on Case protectors for the KatoLooking forward to the reviews on your pump & much more shopping with Steve in the future too :woohoo:

COOL HEY ?????
Thanx to Brenno (Mr. Brennan) at St. Pius XHey Vince,,,
If you guys want to do that , that`s fine with me (it is a maintrail thru the Watto`s run though, No Single Trail) and the St Albans Rd is open & fast if you want it to be, it is driven by tourists in cars & 4×4`s often, so have to be on the lookout up front
We aim to be at the Pines for 8am.
If you are still keen closer to the day I will let you know the definate details of where to meet etcAs for the fuel, 9 litres should be plenty to get you to Wisemans, it is approx 100k I think from the Pines to there.
Last time I rode it, it was 130k from Freemans Waterhole to Wisemans or thereabouts,,,,,TB will be able to clarify that
Cheers
P.S. The name thingy is always confusing on here (that`s why we always prefer to run with usernames, its easier that way)

Plan is to leave Newy about 7am, meet up with Gav, maybe MickP etc at Freemans servo to fuel up,,,
Then do a trail (good for ADV style bikes) to Mt Faulk then up to meet any others at the Pines about 8am.On thru the Watto`s & down to St Alans Rd for the run to Wisemans for lunch & a beer
Keen anyone else ?????????
