Good to hear your home and doing ok Mate, I guess you will have to make do with after ride get togethers for a while. If you can’t do the ride, at least join in the drinks and banter afterwards to get your fix. :)

She went alright, no drops, no falls or stalls. Bottomed out once on the lower part of the hill in the videos and agin going through the deep bog in Mick’s phot’s. Almost got stuck in the slop at the start but got through and a bit of momentum before it bottomed out near the other side. Near put me over the bars it pulled up that quick. :S

It’s not that it wouldn’t start it was just all the stops and starts of the ride.

What I meant was it would be better (:P yourself), I certainly don’t want to go backwards. I like riding in the lower rev range, I was on the V-strom on Saturday and I liked the way it was just a flick of the wrist and a little rev to get the back to slide through the corner.

KLX is 1 bike I have been considering. I road a new Sherco 4.5 demo at kowen forest and tourque in low revs was no better or even less than the DRZ. It did feel a little lighter to throw around but to be honest, by the time I had a go on it I was already knackered from riding. Once the revs picked up there was definately more get up and go the the DRZ.
I actually asked the guys at Trailzone magazine what would be a good option as an upgrade from the DRZ without all the maintenance hassle of the modern 450 (and yes I know the maintenance isn’t really that bad but I am lazy and spoiled by the DRZ)and they would have recommended the Sherco if I hadn’t told them I tried and didn’t like it. Maybe I should look at something more like a 510, 530 or 570. I haven’t looked into it yet but they couldn’t weigh more than the DRZ I reckon, should have good tourque and better ergo’s for a big bloke like me. ( I ave only just thought of this and have almost talked myself into it.)

Feelings Blue, feelings. Even DRZ riders have them. :P ;)
