Here is the article from the Western Advocate:
Bike Rider Struck In Chest
BY TERRY JONES
30 Mar, 2010 01:00 AM
POLICE were yesterday waiting to establish what sort of projectile struck a trail bike rider in the chest near Yetholme on Saturday. At the same time, Bathurst’s large motorcycling fraternity was concerned there might be a sniper active in the region at a time of year when most bike riders were pursuing their sport during cooler, early autumn months.
Police in Sydney yesterday said that x-rays had revealed a projectile was lodged in the chest of a 58-year-old man and he was undergoing surgery to establish what it was.
Until surgery was completed it was open to speculation that it could have been a small calibre .22 bullet, a pellet from an air rifle or stray shot from a shotgun.
“[The man had] been bike-riding with his 21-year-old son as they returned to their car when the father slowed to catch his breath,” Sydney police said.
“The man reported being struck by an object and immediately felt pain in his chest.
“The man’s son assisted him to their car and the pair drove to Bathurst Base Hospital where doctors carried out an x-ray that revealed a projectile in the left side of his chest.”
The man remained in a stable condition in a Sydney hospital over the weekend.
Bathurst motorcycle identity Mick Muldoon said yesterday he had heard of the incident. There had been discussion about the identity of the man, believed to be a keen Bathurst bike rider.
Mr Muldoon hadn’t heard any reports from trail-bike enthusiasts about pot-shots being taken at them or a sniper being active.Meanwhile, detectives were investigating the incident and anyone with information to assist to come forward by phone (02) 6332 8699 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.

Thanks for your input Dick, I have ordered the parts and hopefully the young fella will respect his new top end when it is cold.
It is amazing the difference in prices for the parts and it definately pays to do your home work and shop around.
To have our cylinder repaired and a Wiseco piston kit supplied here in Australia $592.00
To get a brand new cylinder and OEM piston kit from JP parts in Japan $889.00
To get a new cylinder, ported for more bottom end power by Eric Gorr (one of the best 2T men in the business), another head, trick pro circuit power valve and piston kit delivered to me ready to bolt on, from America. $660.
