Welcome Freeze, Thanks for the intro. An 03 model is a new bike in my books, I am still cutting around on a 01 model and couldn’t be happier!!
A well known Old Bull called Ollie lives in your parts, it wouldn’t hurt to hook up with him for a ride.
    Cheers

We had a top time and am glad I went, wasn’t impressed that XXXX was the only beer you could get at the Home Ground of the NSW Blues though. $6.70 for a schooner was a bit steep too.

Where in the crowd were you XRTH?? We were in the seats directly behind what would have been the try line.

16 sticks of gelli, placed 5 ‘ in the ground and simultaneously ignited will leave a REALLYREALLY BIG hole in the ground which fills up with water and is cool for ducks, oh and it throws eels around the paddocks for miles.

And having your uncles pick you up at school on a Z1R makes turns you from a dirtbike outcast into the coolest yr 7 boy

Yeah my old man dropped me off at school in a brand new blinged up Ford Loueville with a sleeper cab when Smokey and the Bandit was all the rage. That made me cool for a while.

My mother was a Whynns salesperson and out of shear luck, we ended up with the Whynns Spirit of Australia Jet powered world speed contender sitting in our front yard for a few days and there was a detour that sent everyone including the school buses past our house at the time. Wasn’t I popular for a day or two!!!

And the list goes on, now I think of it I am lucky to be still alive.

More stupid things I learnt as a kid

1 never grab a sparkler by the sparkly bit
2 never step off a school bus backwards while it is still moving
3 dont try and pat a dog that is growling at you
4 don’t stand in the rear tray of a tricycle and ride it down a huge hill
5 don’t pick a fight with a 100kg 12 yo Arab kid with a beard. They will beat your skinny arse.
6 don’t throw mud balls at passing cars. Your grandfather could be a passenger and see you do it.
7 A skate board will get the death wobbles at 60kmh,never jump off a skate board at 60kmh, you can’t run that fast. Even in Volleys.
8 polyester Hawaiian shirts provide no protection from gravel rash
9 If you are told to stand there and wait while a parent gets something to hit you with..Dont
10 An Evel Kenevel belt used as a tourniquet will stem the flow of blood from a gaping wound.
11 after being clobbered with a golf club, rubbing butter on the lump does nothing.
12 Whist being threatened by a girl with a cricket bat, don’t stick your head out and say “Go On I dare you”
13 Don’t slide on your arse on an old wooden varandah, then have your father remove the splinter with a razor blade.
14 Never do an “around the world” with a yo yo in a room with expensive light fittings
15 never let 2 turtles go in the local pool and brag that you did it.
16 getting caught in the pulley belts on a vacuum pump in a dairy will nearly kill you.
17 never trap a spotted quoll and try and grab it by the tail
18 a ride on plastic tractor, isn’t meant to be jumped.
19 It is fun to shoot your brother with a slug gun until your dad finds out.
20 the door of a Bedford truck will still close with your hand jammed in it

Congratulations and Good work TB, I know first hand the work and passion that you put into OBT. Without that passion the site wouldn’t be what it is.
Being one of the first members, it has pleased me no end, to see it go from just a handful of members to what it is today. I remember the days when I would be online and think “I wish someone would post something”, now it has gotten to the stage where at times I have trouble keeping up with all the posts!!!
Although the counter indicates that you have done 10,000 posts, it doesn’t point out that you would have done nearly as many PM’s answering members questions behind the scenes or the phone calls from punters needing advise on everything from engine rebuilds to marriage counceling.

Then there are the things I have seen you do for people with minimal thanks required, like rebuilding a wheel for a bloke you have never met, or running down to Sutto’s to pick up a part or tyre for someone, that is to name just a few, If I sat here and thought about the good things you do, that most of the members dont see, the list would go on much longer.

I have also witnessed the grief that running this site and trying to please the masses can cause, I have seen you at the brink of throwing your hands in the air and walking away, that also goes for me. What stops us from doing that is,we know how much work has gone into building OBT and like it or not it is a part of our lives now. We are too far down the track to turn back and we have to keep going now,no matter how steep and rocky the next hill is.

In finishing I would like to personally thank you for the things you have done for me and the friendship that has been extended to me and my family over the last 18 months, although at times I will admit I could throttle you.

Thanks mate the last 18 months have been one hell of a ride.

    Cheers
    Mick

Welcome Smokey, I consider myself a friend of Menace too. (I also need him to do something for me in Melbourne soon).
He’s a good fella and if you hang out with him a bit he will no doubt get you in trouble with your wife at some stage.

    Cheers

A catalogue would be the go, as you can leave it on the bench with something descretely circled leading up to your birthday or Xmas and hope that someone gets the hint.

Although I will admit I look through Ballards glossy broucure and then ring you guys.

sounds like a good deal there mick. i was just wandering if Suttos does a mail order thing like Ballards

Dusty, I have used Suttos for mail order in the past and found them just as good if not better than Ballards and the bonus is, you get a heap better price than Ballards!!!!!!!!

I no longer buy my gear from Ballards, as Suttos have won me as far as service and price goes. Just ring them and ask for Mal.

Click on their ad at the top of every page and check out their website for details and the products they carry.

AND TELL HIM YOU ARE AN OLD BULL!!!
