Hows your IRC going Mick, I see you went to Beechwood pub on the bike on Sunday that’s all bitumen, but have you done anything else, you haven’t mentioned how it feels, only that you ripped a hole the sidewall (through not fault of it)Just wondering how you found it in the dirt?

    TB

Luggs up pretty good in the dirt. I have hit a few challanging hills and it passed with flying colours.I even got it into a bog hole with the sole intention of roosting Tripper as he came around the corner,as he came round the corner I dump the clutch and the dam thing gripped in the snotty mud and just wheel stood out of the bog with minimum of spin causing me to nearly flip the XR much to Trippers amusement.
I also managed to put 67km of tar riding on it on Saturday and sunday. Afterwards I made sure i checked it to see how it was wearing and am quite suprised how little damage was done to the knobbs. The knobs are still all intact,I did notice though that there are stretch marks on the backside of the knob that may convert into tears later down the track.Time will tell. At the moment I am happy with the tyre as a whole.

You gotta do what you think is the right thing ECKS. It would be pretty hard core to go riding for three days with a baby due at the same time.

Welcome Matt, your story sounds pretty familiar to a lot around here, so you will fit in well! The more you put into OBT the more you’ll get back from it.
Great friends, great rides and tons of laughs.
    Cheers

RC honda has been very quiet. He is a mate of Strucky’s from memory,I wonder if he can confirm with him.

Put Tripper on the reserves list to ,just in case we can talk his missus round.

The R is the race model as such,

    Liquid cooled
    Kick Start
    Plastic Tank
    Bigger forks
    More suspension travel both ends
Alloy frame on early models not sure now though

The L hasn’t any of the above and is sort of like an NX, an Xr600 motor as such a touring model with as big a following in the states as the R model, and they both have a massive following over there

There is bugger all that can be changed over between the two they are that different

    TB

The XR600R wasn’t liquid cooled though, just saying.:)

Melissa Av kings Park next to Pirtek. He’s not the cheapest around but IMO his weld quality is pretty awesome.

There you go Tiny. Kings Park is near Blacktown isn’t it?? Kinda near you.

I used a similar method to STM’s dad. I got them used to the bike first by pushing them around with the engine off, just so as to get used to the controls. Then I let them coast down our drive way and stop.
Then once they got enough confidence with stopping the bike,I started the engine and made them ride about 3 meters at a time in a straight line and stop, then we kept repeating the process until they were confident to turn the bike around a witch’s hat and return back the 3 meters.

Fair call TB but I have also seen a Camelbak failure. That is how I know how much a replacement valve costs.

The genuine Camelbak valve will cost you about $16 on its own, so at $24 for the whole kit and caboodle is reasonable value for the average weekend warrior.

I am keen, but am full up until mid October, after then we will get together for a 2 day ride and a drink up your way. I like Coffs.
