Hello Gordo…
single track addicts up here too, there’s a regular group of us from Grafton to Brunswick…….
the invite works both ways… we have oodles of forest round Casino-Grafton to get lost in and single track heaven.Bruce Cee
Like Michael says something adrift in the flwheel stator area.
Bugger Bender, who woulda thought eh?
One of our very own gets his bike ripped, it’s an awfull feeling too… mine was taken near 30 years ago (xt200 workbike I had bought less than 4 weeks earlier on credit and restricted licence) and I still get cranky thinking about it as I had to pay it off…….
good luck with it
Bruce Cee
I dunno if it is right but on Thumka talk the yanks used to be jealous of us bhaving roadgoing WR450s here and in NZ….. now i got the impression they weren’t as well recieved over there by the MX focused masses so the dealers didn’t have any floorstock, or Y USA didn’t send them to certain states
Photo was a fake… injection wasn’t … good stuff last time I believe a Yamaha dealer…..
Good on yamaha for at least making some big steps forward in the current economic climate…..
Looks good in blue & white too.
Give your man a good pat on the back TB

I like my KTMs…. I like them red, and I don’t mind the honda models…
now how do you reckon they made that mistake… cause I have a better than fair idea.?
Ebay scammed Puddles?
my condolences if it was, if it was plain stolen, still have my sympathy..

Funny you should mention that TB, he spent last night on youtube trying to find footage of a KTM that wasn’t kicking it’s rear around….
micknmeld wrote:Yeah Bruce, have found you a very tidy 06 YZ85 LW in the price range you are looking at, it is our Secretary’s son’s old bike. It has new tyres and a heap of spares included. Has been raced a couple of years ago but maintained well. Price and ph number PM’ed to you.Mick as per usual my compadre’ you are worth your weight in Acapulco Gold.
will read and tell the lad……axel wrote:How much Bruce?Mark sold me them last time for 30 delivered a pair
big thread here from a while ago on gloves
We are serial seat tearers here, so between Mrs Cee and i we have become fairly adept at this task, some gripper material from the upholsters a heat gun and a good pneumatic upholsters staple gun and you can do yer own for years to come.
Gunna do the IT next week for Josh, the square eadged seat will be a bit of a challenge but nothing impossible, have tried quite few good mechanical and electric staplers… my advice is go airBullpitt gloves, have 5 sets across the family now, best value for money and tough as old nails in hardwood
Ok a few hiccups but all went well, being a teen boy he wanted to make it look newer, so i carefully sotwed the old guards away and replaced them with some YZ/Wr units I had laying around, and put a pair of renthal bars on it for him, a better front brake perch and lever and some little blingy bits I had.
The old round carby slide doesn’t even have a scratch on it, the aircleaner is a bit funny but we got it back together at 5pm yesterday, put some premium mix in it and it fired 2nd kick a little rtweak of the A/F screw and it idled like a sewing machine.
He did a few laps of the yard, then handed over to me.
God those old girls are light, so easy to flick around, the engine is typical of it’s era, very willing and eager but definitely no HP king, but hey fun is the name of the game. Clutch is good , Box is excellent (these models had weak gearboxes) and starts first kick with heaps of compression.
Now the idea is when he gets sick of it or buys another bike i will buy it off him for a fair price, and then local Vinduros here I come……..A poor pic off the daughters Iphone

No worries Greg, when we get it back together tomorrow will take a few…..
