Yep, I’m going. I live about 40mins west of Wyangala but will probably head to Sydney on the Fri arvo to be at the riders breifing 8am. Going to take the Weestrom for it’s first o’nighter.
Rode through there with a mate last WE. Dam looks really good atm. Close to 95% full.
Nice choice there Ollie.
I’m in the process of setting mine up for more ADV style riding. I went the Acerbis “Super tanker”.
BTW in that pic of under your rear fender there is no black tubular subframe.
Anyone a fan of old Lions??
‘Bout time I gave it a go.
Thanks TB
I’ve been looking at these too. Mainly for the XR but latelty for the WR. Over at ADV in the XR’s thread opinion is that it’s not really needed on the Xr because of the clutch setup in them. something about a “Judder” spring soaking up much of the load.
Anyway there seems to be some thumbs up for the WR. I’ll give them a go when my current sprocket needs replacing.
Man you should see some of the stuff we come across in my line of work (powerline tree trimmer in CWest NSW). I’ve seen a timber spoked wheel Bentley under a tree in a padock outside, 3X DR750’s (I think thats what they were) at condo, 10 or so Goggomobile looking things in a shed at Parkes, half a dozen EH’s etc etc.
I have seriously thought about offering the Cocky’s $50-$200 ea for some of their old bit’s and peices. Take it home, pressure clean it and put it up on flea-bay.
You see alot (I mean ALOT) of useful bikes, cars, trucks just rusting sitting under trees. Big shame.
Some Honda part for the Red Riders.
Brings back memories. We used to live at the vineyard 4th piccy from the bottom. Some great trails around that neck of the woods.

Watching with interest. There is an aussie Honda team competing as well.
That Gimp and his mate. Pisser.
The second dude looks a bit “spesh” or pissed. Or both.

Quote:i may be wrong but i think those bikes came with two headlites from new probably for ADRs or something i guess most use the small oneYep, I think you’re right. There was a fuss about dealers keeping (then reselling) the larger lights and mounting the smaller trail lights. Owners were going back demanding the ADR light to be fitted as the trail one was shite.
What type of headlight is that? It looks bigger than standard.
Thanks Kasuyaho. I’m 6,1 as well so thats interesting what you say about lift and seperate in the cockpit. Ballards have a pretty good riser kit that allows back and forth from memory. Damper is out of my $$ atm.
I’ve e-mailed Betta re stator upgrades so waiting to hear from them as well. My local bike sparky (also a bike nut, finke etc)is yet to be fully convinced about running GPS’s through CDI bikes. Says the power is too “dirty’ for finer electronics and needs some work to make it “clean”. I’m patient.
Good point you made about the Rallye bikes. I want reliability, power and durability and a bit of speed thrown in as well. I’ve still got a fare few k’s to do before I get some more rubber but I’ll keep the 908’s in mind.
NFHU
And Mick, you’ll be first to know if I have a weak moment and decide to sell it.
