Happy Berfday mate
Ollie
Does your mate know that the 07 is a completley different bike to the 08/09 ?
Ollie
Makes stalling harder but it is still possible to stall for what ever reason, Ie going thru a water crossing  running out of fuel  or having a off idle hiccup
Ollie
They are an awsome bit of gear very well engineered but they do have a few issues.
If you stall on a hill, you havnt got your gears to hold you there and you can free wheel back down.
you cant bump start your bike, even if you can get it up to 100kays, the engine has to be turning to engage the centrifigal balls.
If you park your bike on a steep hill or driveway your bike has a fair chance of rolling and then crashing, I made up a handbrake out of an inner tube.I would buy another one in a heart beat, great in the mud

Yeah Ollie. I had a pair on my old 300. I use to double the kids and wife around in the bush mostly but they did get in the way sometime. Here’s a pic. :cheer:

was that the wife and kids who got in the way or the Pegs Dusty
cheers mate I have seen them, I was looking for a XR specific one tho
Ollie
Speaking from Experiance Mick ?
Dont worry about the retreads TB, they got me up every Hill I attempted on the Birthday ride and I did take the hard options on the Saturday, Sunday was just a survival day
I also did a few jumps on her on Saturday arvo ( actually cased it twice  ) hopefully get it sorted soon.
Ollie
Cheers Boyz  Thanks for the offer of the tank TB I got a 17 litre Clark tank ready to go for the really long rides (for me  ) I got this bike as an adventure bike and something I could ride to work now and then, the Gasgas is still my single track trail bike. I was looking at 3 different bikes they were the 690 Kato ( I had my eye on the same bike eagle bought about 2 months ago  ) but bit pricey for me , the DR650 nice bike but thought it would kill me if I tried to ride it like I would want but it does have the Leccy Leg.
apart from the Kick starting the XR ticks all the boxes and is still good in the snotty stuff. The extra set of wheels sealed it for me.Top triple clamp, fat bars and maybe a Air hawk seat are the next things to get. Does anyone do passenger pegs for these ? wife and daughter like to get on the back now and then.
Menace wrong hand, the right one is missing the digits the left is my modelling hand
Oink Oink
Ollie
Nice work Ollie

He then moved the piece of shit a dozen times around his shed till he loaded it up in his ute to surprise Ollie with. Whilst loading my bike on last Friday he slipped on it, my bike rolled backwards and as he turned to grab the front wheel his left foot got locked in the carrier whilst his right got jammed between my pivot peg and the tray. My bike was at the balance point and was about to topple out and tear Nick in half so I jumped behind it and held it up like a scrum. Neither of us could move and to any passer by it would have looked a sight. Nick untangled his left leg, I lifted the peg of his right and we skull dragged my bike back into his ute.

Bwwwaaahhh ha ha snort Bwwwahahaha !!  Now thats funny ! When it was at my old mans place I think it took more skin off people than I care to remember and was told by the old man to get rid of it  I think a few people got bitten by it when it was near the truck as well at the auction. There was no way in hell it was coming back with me !! 👿 We were going to lean it up against a sapling and hope that it would grow around it  But Al said he would take it for Nathan
if its at your place Corey make sure its well out of rhe way and wrapped in plastic or foam or something especially with your recent stint of bad luck with your legs
Glad it has helped make a serious contribution to some worthwhile charitiesOLLIE

Once he learns to start it we might http://www.wildearth.com.au/optimus-terra-weekend-ultralight-cookset-095l-p-1354.html being his friend. :laugh:Since when did you get your stripes
Ollie’s starting problems are fixed when he listens which I saw him do many a time started easy and well. We are going to do a bike maintenance day I think and cover some stuff but in hind sight he did really well on it. Going to show him same things showed you that I have learnt the hard way over the years  Then yes Mick he may pull his head out of is arse and admit it’s a better mouse trap then he has given them credit for being
TB
Boys thanks for the starting tips
it really did help get the 6Fiddy going, just glad I didnt crash her on the side of some rutt infested goat track  By the time we got onto the Turon River trail I was feeling at one with the big girl, definatley not real happy in the single trail stuff or maybe thats just me  hats off to anyone who rides one of these in the tight single track
Looking forward to the maintenance day at TB’sI have taken a heap of photies of all the steps and processes ive done to get it up to the stage she is at now and will post it up when I get some time.

Wow !! what a great weekend
awsome to see so many bikes in the one place. I had a great time and recieved many comments on my decision to take my new adventure ride (BRP) out to sunny corner  It was great along the twin trails especially with the heated grips  I was soon wandering what had got into me when we hit the hard sections and I had to work my arse off to get up some of those Hills  Thank god its got about 50HP on tap and managed to get up every hill without falling off
I had one little off on the arvo grade 3 ride when I went down into a gully and the BRP flamed out on me
Jeffro wasnt far behind and a couple of other OldBulls helped me Lasoo it around the forks and heave her out.
Back at the Camp we quickly got into the drinks  while we waited for the return of the rest of the boys, news filtered thru about Micks incident
and I can tell you mate everybody was concerned about your well being. The auction was a crack up laughed so hard it hurt  wasnt long before my beers had changed to JD and coke and I was putting em down far to quick, at about 1am I had half a cup left and gave that to the new Crowned King which he instantaniously projectile vomited back up  that was it for me so I wandered down to the swag and died :S I had one foot outside to help stop the sky from spinning  I woke up in the morning my tonsils were as sore as and the size of a melon
and it took me nearly an hour to eat a bowl of muesli  I didnt do the morning loops as I was still feeling crap and packed my gear up and helped clean the camp site.
The ride home was a ripper although I was still feeling pretty green and STM didnt help  The tight singles were a real challenge on the BRP and I was absolutley rooted I came unstuck a couple of times and it seemed like there was always a camera there (thanks Pete )
The tracks back suited the BRP perfectly and I knew that it would take out a few tyres and sure enough it did.
Cracked me up when rocket went past on his new 300 looked like he was having a ball the crazy mofo ! Loved the water crossings although the yammy 250 boys both seemed to be having issues  5 minute Job Bol
got back to the car park and it just started raining it was a mad scramble to get the bikes and gear loaded.
Just as I was leaving Bolls Bike decided it didnt want to stay upright and fell over on his trailer
Unfortunatley Pete the wolfs battery had chucked it in and didnt want to go even after pushing it down the hill and getting ol mate to tow her back up to the servo. Hope you got home alright mate.Anyway thats it for me I had a blast of a time on the 6Fiddy and was great catching up with every one. Thanks to all concerned for making it the awsome weekend that it was
cheers Ollie
