You certainly post more than you ride these days!

Considering we are a similar ability, ride similar trails and own the same 250, this report has a lot of relevance for me. It seems the summary is that you would have to spend a fair bit of money to get the 450 to suit your area yet you can run an almost stock 250x and it is a better fit. I have to say that I am very happy with my 250x and rarely wish for any more power. If you weigh over 100kg then you are forced onto a bigger bike but at around the 90 kg mark and with the right gearing my bike feels just right. My engine is stock so I do have a bit of room to upgrade should I wish to later on and I too am hanging out to follow Arron’s experiment.
Of course if I lived at Condo it would be a very different story!STM
hey Scott nick off with your light arse weight comments, nothing wrong with hanging 105kg off the back of the CRFx. In the Nundle singles I have tried all the bigger bikes and they cannot match the power, ride and weight that the 250 delivers and its not just the Honda, Boonys Ktm is just as quick when someone decent rides it, just looks slow and retarded when he is on it.

Rain. What’s that? Bright sunny and dry, no rain since early February. Most of the boys and their families are at upper Horton this weekend no doubt breathing dust by the kilo with each breath. Even the beer is tooheys dry.

Cant wait to ride them next weekend as we cut them in on foot due to the need for much chainsawing, needless to say i’ll sleep well tonight. One trail is a flat windy section that should be a quick paced ride for all and is the final link between existing singles and leech valley which we cut in a month or so ago. This trail will feature the enduro cross special test section that will be set up for the August ride. The second is damiens root trail (no not because of that its just that it features a technical uphill with an off camber tree root at the worst part of the hill which he didnt have a good relationship with when we found the trail).
While its not long it will cause some shit if its wet because of its grassy off camber climb that just keeps going. It joins lake Bollocks road to the airstrip and contains a cranky sow and her ten or so piglets, thankfully the father wasnt home as my labrador certainly was no pig dog.(it was like go catch em yourself if your so keen Im going back to the ute).
We have included a 1.5 km adventure ride in the mid part of the loop to give everyone a rest, although if Damus gets his way even this will be replaced by a single trail before the August ride. The legs were not up to the hill climb it involves and by the time we got to it the chainsaws were getting to bloody heavy to do more.
The singles loop is not going to be an easy ride, not because its riddiculously long or Murphsburg in nature, but because it never really gives you much of a rest and it is very technical. Im looking forward to seeing Mick punt the big pig through it and if he makes it he will certainly have earnt his beer.
