Quote:Thanks TB. Definately, I am always keen to get the boys out and about for a ride. I have taken them to Pacific Park a couple of times, which is good for kids, if not a bit feral at times.I’m at Wahroonga, about 40 minute to Pacific Park, fortunately not as far away as the CC.
Yeah its good for the kids, I take a BBQ and its all good. You will have to come to Orange for some of those pine single trails
TB

Day 2
Moto jumped straight up away looking like this (not), few beers last night

we rode out early to Glergate forest area to watch the guys come through a transport section, a marshall took down some tape so we could ride through into the forest. We travelled up the track until we came across one of Ballards ghost riders, we parked up and wandered into the forest where Moto decided to show us how tough he is, or stupid you be the judge
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNSwFSwRoQg&feature=channel_page
He then went on the show us how he would take Hollis out for Benny Grabham
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wL_5HVtw_aw&feature=channel_page
We watched a few of the guns come through, I missed getting a picture of Benny as he was the only guy that said hi and I was so taken back that I missed the shot

Chris Hollis

It was decided that the way Moto was riding he should trade his fully sic bro Subaru for something better suited to his needs

We then left for Hillend for a counter meal, on the way I took the boys to Ophir to take a walk in the mines
This shot was taken in the pitch black and after the flash we found out what was really going on

This is better, these shafts are about 25 to 30 mtrs in length

Out the front of the shaft and the creek

We left for hillend, seems the boys needed a feed as they appeared in a hurry
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCoHoeKXiE0&feature=channel_page
I got back in the lead and we travelled down and crossed long point crossing and on to long point for a counter lunch, the pub even had our sticker on the window and the publican said I know you, I said hows that he said “that jersey is a one of isn’t it?”

We left and decided to go down the bridle trail towards bathurst and cross rothog crossing and go back to Orange that way

Roothog crossing is a crossing that was used in the Australian Safari in 2003 or there abouts and it claimed a fair few of the field with drowned bikes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ASgyigOA6Y&feature=channel
From there we took the rockiest road in all of Australia I reckon up the back of Clifton Grove and went back in and played in the pine forest

Then Champo had a lay down
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCpvP3YimKg&feature=channel_page
Moto

The boys started dicking around

Then they wanted a album cover shot for their new boy band they are forming WTF! :silly:

We then headed back to camp and got the old RM370 out, its a 1976 model, three years older then moto, it also had a trials tyre fitted for long track so it was struggling for traction in the grass paddock

TB
First 2 days
OK so I meet LC4 and Green450 at McDonalds at Blaxland at about 7.30 on the Wednesday morning, we cruised up over the mountains to Orange. When we got to the olds place we found that Garry (step father) had got us a load of fire wood and sorted everything for us, cheers Garry
We unloaded and the boys set their tent up, I set up the quick shade and unloaded the bikes, we then went into town did some shopping and got a box of Rums!
After we got back we decided to light the fire, am still not sure why we did it in the middle of the afternoon but we did.
We cooked some dinner and started in the beers and rums whilst we waited for Moto and Champo, seems Moto had got to Champo’s at around 1.30 that arvo and it took Champo 3 hrs to get ready (he did have to get an engine organised for his car) but 3 hrs, bloody two stroke riders lol
When he turned up I helped Moto put a chain and rear sprocket on the Kato, check the pictures

The camp the first night, including a 4 burner BBQ

We got an early start the next morning and went into Parc Ferme
Bikes Bikes and more bikes

We watched the guns get their bikes out of Parc Ferme and start or not start
AJ Roberts in his 10 min work period

AJ’s bike wouldn’t start the first morning and he failed the cold start test, 10 second penalty
On that note, Rockets KTM also failed the cold start test on day one all you KTM blokes
, also a BMW we saw being pushed down the road :angry:Ben Grabhams Blue steel look lol, heaps of blue steel this week (Champo can explain the blue steel look)

Chris Hollis fitting new stickers in his work period

AJ, Hollis and someone I can’t remember getting under way

AJ getting away, we tracked down one of the Honda team guys and he said as AJ’s bike was an R thus it is EFI, you need to kick it over three times to charge the capacitor before it will will start (has no battery) once the capacitor is charged the engine starts, but the team had to fit lights for the 4 day and because AJ didn’t turn the lights of, every time he kicked the engine over to charge the capacitor the power went to the lights DOH ! We watched him, once he sorted it, it started straight away

BMW not starting and then starting and not keeping running, embarrassing

So we went back to camp and suited up, we rode out to the grass track test, it was real ordinary, viewing wasn’t really thought out by the organisers, they did say later the safety requirements in NSW are tough and that’s the way it has to be as the tracks are inspected.
We set up on the fence and Moto layed down on the ground, he mentioned a few times that it was too early in the morning to be out of bed

We drove into town for Moto to do some shopping and the we went riding in some real sweet single line Pine Forest I had a rim lock that was not doing the job as I had broken mine earlier that day, so I raced back to the camp and grabbed Chop’s Banana, lucky the pine is only 2 mins from the olds place, meet up with the guys and keep going, Moto dumped the Kato on the 3rd turn in the s/t pine, we rode for a while before we headed in for a counter lunch
LC4skin, Green450, Champo and Moto

Bikes at the Pub

After lunch we went and fuelled the bikes and headed out to watch the 15min work period, the last turn out the front of Parc Ferme is a 90 degree intersection on bitumen, about halfway through the corner on chop’s banana I hear the sound of metal grinding along the tar, my first thought was that the bike would hit me and take me down, I turn around to see Moto and the Kato on the ground, in front of the four day! People in cars are laughing OMG!! The below photo is a re-enactment as he got up before I could get my camera out

And how he ended up

The katos war wounds

Moto’s War wounds

We went in to watch the guys change tyres etc
AJ

Chris Hollis

Chris laying into the Husky with a hammer lol its wasn’t working for him and he took put the bike into parc ferme without a tyre on the rear

And finished early

Michael from Ballards was finding it all to much by the looks

The BMW pit

We went back to camp for Moto to display his snappy dress sense

He carried on and on that he is not an elephant, but really?

We finished the day with some beers and a BBQ dinner
Later Day 2
Yeah think so Mick, he was on a two stroke Kato, so that was him I would guess, but they didnt really know you but knew Rick and Deanna
TB
Nice pics mate well done, on the subject of the young fellow and getting on the back of the kato, after watching the final moto at the 4 day and PDS in action I wouldnt get on the back either, we saw some funny rear end action I tell ya
Good work on the kids and the bikes, should bring the kids to Pacific Park one day when we go down there, you are on the central coast?? I cant remember sorry

Jarrod Bewley wins 2009 Australian 4-Day Enduro
Ballard’s Wellard Yamaha racer Jarrod Bewley has taken the Outright win of this year’s Hog’s Breath Cafe Australian 4-Day Enduro (A4DE) in what has been one of the closest battles in the 31-year history of the event.Bewley, 22, from Sydney, went into today’s Jayco Final Motocross Event at Orange, NSW, 22-seconds ahead of MSC Kawasaki’s Toby Price.
Price, 21, from Singleton (NSW) got a good start in the day’s premier race – the main heat for Championship Class 4 – in which Bewley and all five of the top runners were in.
Price got a good start in the six-lap moto and charged up to 2nd, nearly hunting down the leader, Peter Boyle (Honda).
Bewley was further back off the start and managed to get up into 3rd – Price’s ride in the final motocross today closed the gap between him and Bewley, with Bewley winning Outright and Class 4 by 9-seconds.
“Words can’t explain how I feel. I’m all teary and it just shows that all the hard work pays off,” Bewley said.
“From here we’ve got the Australian Off-Road Championship and the [International Six Days Enduro] and I really want to make a stand in that and be overseas one day, this is only the start of it.”
Price was “overjoyed” to finish a close 2nd Outright in his first ever A4DE. To watch video interviews with Jarrod and Toby visit http://www.a4de.com.
Third Outright and in the premier Class 4 was up for grabs today between last year’s A4DE winner, Chris Hollis (Husqvarna) and top-contender Anthony ‘AJ’ Roberts, with Roberts finishing Day 3 a mere .146-seconds ahead of Hollis.
Despite a crash, Hollis managed to fend Roberts off to take the 3rd podium spot.
Fourth Outright went to Honda’s Peter Boyle, who’s solid final moto pulled him up two Outright spots, with Roberts 0.5 of a second behind (5th Outright).
Racing was just as close in most of the other classes.
Bewley’s teammate, ‘King’ Kirk Hutton wrapped up the win in Championship Class 3 (250cc 4-Stroke) by 7.7-seconds over Kawasaki young gun Josh Green after a nail biting final moto.
Hutton was the first non-450cc rider to finish in the top-10 Outright, claiming 6th, followed by Green (7th).
Queenslanders Grant Siebenhausen (Yamaha) and Nathan Castle (KTM) had the scorers scratching their heads today – the pair were neck and neck all event and finished one-two in the final motocross – Siebenhausen had a 2-second lead going into today and finished the moto 0.6 of a second behind Castle.
New Zealander Rory Mead looked as if he might have lost his Aussie Class 2 (220cc to 250cc 2-Stroke) title in the final moto today – fellow Kiwi Jason Davis had a blinder and Mead’s bike only just made it across the finish line due to engine trouble.
Mead had a 50-second lead going into today – he ended up limping past the checkered flag and winning by 20-seconds over Davis and another Kiwi, Karl Power.
In the big-bore (Championship Class 5) only 6.5-seconds separated Husqvarna’s Jehi Willis and KTM’s Brad ‘Wonka’ Williscroft going into their heat this afternoon.
Willis put in a strong ride and ended up winning the title by 5-seconds. Geoff Braico who finished 3rd in the class, won the moto.
Yamaha racers easily wrapped up the Championship Veteran’s, Master’s and Women’s today, with Alison Parker taking the Women’s crown, Orange’s own Stuart Bennett the fastest Veteran and Geoff Ballard smoking the Masters by more than 10-minutes.
In the Junior Trophy Team stakes, Queensland were the winners.
And the fastest of the Senior Trophy Team’s was Victoria.
The fastest Club Team was the Southside Time Bandits (Alison Parker, Jemma Wilson and Nathan Castle).
And the KTM Motorex Off-Road Team won the Trade Team division.

The next event on the off-road racing calendar is the third and 4th rounds of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) down the road from Orange at Blayney, NSW, on May 16 and 17. For info or to enter go to http://www.dirtbikepromotions.com.au
