“Grabbo said”
Day 2“soild day mostly gritty sand with small and medium size dunes, no big ones, just kept it steady still adapting to the terrain and the GPS, running about 60% my normal pace, but still a long way to go in this rally so wandered along a bit today, prelim results have me 14th for the stage and only 10mins 16secs back from the leader, so that puts me in a top 20 start tomorrow with 1 min start intervals which will help with the dust. Bike is good, though still a little fluffy in the mid range…….got a few of the usual top 10 Dakar boys around me so should be able to settle in ok in the next couple of days……in all, feeling good so far.”
Sounds good :woohoo:

Yeah the Fluidynes are a lot better than the ebay Chinese ones

Cheap ones are crap they crack around the tanks. I have a set of PWRs and they are awesome, well made. PS I dont know why Glen had trouble getting his to fit
Well made, strong and Aussie. Oh yeah much more expensive then the Chinese ones you should compare the quality
Just my opinion

Dust, dust, dust will be the issue if we don’t get rain the day before. I recommend riding in pairs (remember no single riders) if your in a group bigger than two space out and keep an eye on one another at intersections. Its not a race, leave time between pairs, honestly more time will be lost missing turns than on the trail. It is a real navigation event this one, it has more turns. It will require you to zoom in and zoom out, more GPS skills. I will do a quick school on navigation on the friday evening when I have finished loading the last GPS.

He asked me to go upstairs and take a look at the rooms, I said seen one pub seen them all champ he really wanted me to so I did, and what a surprise :woohoo:
All the beds new! All the bed linen new! The bathroom new!

Beer garden, swag area, tent area and bike parking up against the small retaining wall

I have worn my cool vest under my pressure suit armour and it works great maybe even a little to well when starting out STM  Have you tried it? It feels weird but works

I didn’t take it with me today  , did 660kms and it was the hottest conditions I have ever in my 44 years ridden a bike. Out at Woodstock and Wyangla it was too hot to ride. Hosed myself down at the pub in my gear, was good for 15mins, drank 9litres of water (filled and emptied my camelback 3 times), 3 powerades, 1 V and two lemon lime and bitters todayTB

By the sound of that Spud it could be your computer is fast enough for the footage my old PC at home does the same yet runs fine on the laptops and Mac
Could be your memory card if it isn’t a class 10

Do we are pre running the route backwards, all has worked perfectly thus far. It’s some old some new to Oberon mostly normal stuff from Hampton to Wisemans but that can’t be helped as there are only two ways over the mountains. The Tiger is so different to what I am used to but I am enjoying the change . We did 200 kms to here with very few stops. Interesting that the fuel light on Tiger has been one for the last 30kms  that’s around 220 for a tank although if you watch the helmet can when I put it up there has been some right wrist action  Stats for the half day

Clubby is riding a new XR250 L

Fuel injected like next years CRF will be

Nice little bike (for your grand mother)

I am on the tiger and am having a ball, it’s not a Tenere but it phat on the dirt road spinning up wrecking a tyre  sideways spinning up :laugh:At Hampton pub
