Fair point Mick about a half ride.
It is doable as long as we do not muck around too much.
Chris has said that he may not ride but meet us halfway with fuel, lunch and an esky if we all decide on the longer run.
I will get GPS route organised as that will mean less stopping and we can regroup less often.
Any one with a GPS send me a PM with youir E-mail address and I will send the GPS route to you.
I was going to use cornerman system but if we have enough people with GPS I will probably get someone to lead and I will sweep that way if anyone is not sure thay can just stop and wait for me. Does that sound right?
Just remember I have never been on an organised ride before let alone organised one.

I am hoping by the time we leave my post count will be high enough for me to be able to do it.

Great work Maso real good stuff. My only suggestion is that with the GPS routes and people using them etc going ahead will only work if EVERYONE has a GPS otherwise they will spread out and we have found sometimes people rush to stay with those that have a GPS and the same people are left at the back all day. If not you are better running cornerman (you only have a small number so it will move fast anyway) If some have GPS and some dont you will spread way out from the rides I have run and people with will spend ages waiting at the regroups. As its only a day ride and small group using the cornerman will look after everyone and keep the small group within helping distance off one another. Those that have a GPS will have the route when its over anyway

Just my thoughts from what I have done, its your ride so feel free to tell me to butt out

You dont need a thread count to run a ride or route just a want to do something for others

    Again great work ;)

    Thanks

hey guys im after a gps for avd riding what is the best one i can get and what are you guys useing im thinking gavman at this point but what one and where do i get the mounts ??

Sorry Fuchsy I have been busy, way to busy. Yeah I use and recommend Garmin 60CSX for peeps learning GPSs and for experts alike. I just purchased another 60CSX for $152 bucks and am chasing another for a friend. They are cheap, easy to use, bullet proof and better IMO than its later brother the 62 which I also own and am happy to sell you. For ease of loading operation etc get a 60CSX.

As written elsewhere I now have a 62, 3 x 60CSX (for loan), Zumo 220 and a Zumo 550 (and access to a 660) for pre loaded tracks its a 60CSX all day. I also recommend base camp (free download) for your PC and shonky maps on PC and the SD card in the GPS. For extra but not needed for everybody Aus tracks 3 is good and the extra money subscription for google earth isnt worth the time, effort or money. When route planning paper maps are worth everything as well (good quaility maps, not topo everytime) I use paper, local knowlege, Aus topo, 2 computers and many hrs

I will do some videos on how to load and down load your GPSs soon for those asking

Should have asked the question in tech help Jak

You can ignore Boony he is the worst turn coat I have ever seen, ever, he would shoot his dog if someone gave him another  Snowy I think is the same but not as bad  . Dont you guys remember the days you stood by your DR in the shed after it served you faithfully and got you to whatever level you you started on your 250’s, without those trusty steeds you wouldnt be where you are today!!

Jeffro is right try and ride it more. Scotty’s advice is spot on IMO

LC you are a funny bugger

    Enjoy it Jak

TB, you must have a loop or two to lead in this area! It’s in your backyard.

Scotty, how about some Gardens of Stone goodness. ;)

I do Galey, some new stuff as well (well 4 months old) sadly I juggling at the moment and am trying to get this date free as I am sure I will be pre running APC routes with Homer. On another note we will be using a few trails through there a day before for ADV bikes. Hoping on being finished and can get back to join or lead a loop

Did I say Galey this a great idea :)

Krusty I think you loops would be a long way away from where I understand the proposed camp area is
