A Few questions Tb. The last sentence sort of implies you can see the route before you turn up. Is this right? If it is a self navigation ride and everybody starts at the same point then couldn’t you just follow someone with a gps (as long as you don’t lose them or they don’t get lost) or tend to travel as a group anyway. Do people start at intervals.

I reckon this could be fun but the 2T wouldn’t like 500km a day and neither would my rear end if I was on it.

Sorry for the slow response mate I had been away and missed the post

Yeah its a basic outline of the route mate not the exact route either as I am pre running that this weekend :)

Yes you could follow someone I guess. In the APC they may stop for fuel when you dont need to, meaning you will be waiting, you may have to stop and they dont and they will ride off and leave you

This one is starting from Dural, but if someone wanted to start at say Hillend they could start and finish there. I could send them the route, they could load it and away they go happy days

Here is the link here for the route

Yeah I reckon it will be a good ride, a great test and good tracks

thanks guys for all your advice ad tips .has anyone got a husky 300 there doing bloody good deals at the moment $9,90 on road umm

Speak with Mal he is a fair and an honest as bloke as you will ever meet and I don’t think he would ever have another one

I was involved in the build for his bike for the A4DE (raced as a clubman) the cost of spares made a KTM seem cheap I kid you not  I was blown away by the price of spares brake pedal and piston come to mind!!. It was a good bike to ride but not good enough to buy one no matter how cheap IMO.
My step father has a Husky WR250 rego 08 that has only done 1200kms, rego and ridden by a 62 year old and he has been trying to sell it for over 2 years and its now at 3 and a half k (actually may have just sold  )

Sorry it’s just what I seen and experienced first hand and my opinion (that is wrong from time to time  )

I also wouldn’t buy a Gas Gas because I think there are people with rose coloured glasses riding them  Just an opinion again, I love Mal’s its sex on wheels!

It hurts me to write this but if I was to buy a two stroke it would be KTM 300 or the Husaberg same same really, some extras like the CC forks on the berg. I love the TM’s to look at but wouldn’t own one because no one wants them as seen in our own for sale section here.

Thanks Nick. Yes mate I did get your message. Michelle rang Friday afternoon and twice on Saturday morning. All we got was Rosie’s answering machine, so we left 3 messages. No one has rung us back so there is not much more we can do. My wife and daughter were looking forward to this holiday again because it is such a weekend for everyone. Thanks for the offer LC. We will see what happens come November.

Speak with Brian at Team Moto Yamaha Blacktown, tell him I sent you and the price difference he is a good guy and does good work. They can and will freight and are fast, quicker than the states if he can get close enough price wise. I had a issue recently with some suspension bearings for the Tenere he closed the cap and sorted it for me

You’re a dick Boony    That guy was on the pipe and could wheel a bike bloody talented. I watched it twice and was super impressed especially with his commitment to the front end in those conditions. You could see by the footage and angles how much he was getting over the front. Your right Bob point and twist and the speed in the rutted wheel tracks, I was yelling at the screen “GET OUT OF THE RUT, THE RUT!”

Yeh! I thought the same thing Jeffro.I’v played it out a heap of times in my head.

Coulda, shoulda, didn’t, did, tried, didn’t try who knows really. Sorry Tez, but mate ride a bike and shit happens. That’s why it is recognised as a DANGEROUS sport, I have been (because I am old  ) doing this shit for a long time seen a guy cartwheel thru a fence at Condo at 120km/h. I thought the dude was dead, bike hit him the whole smash, he got up ran after the bike to get it going  it’s didnt go again that weekend
Saw a bloke near Kulnura fall off turning around in first gear doing a U turn, fell over broke his leg badly and still today walks with a bad limp.
Seen a guy at a cross country stab his foot to save a front end slide and shatter his ankle so bad they fused it and it doesn’t bend anymore :(
Sorry it has happened I have had many breaks when I was younger, a shoulder reco two years ago, it’s still shit my shoulder but honestly it’s what happens and I am sure like you I would do it all again 20 times over

Feet up most of the time for me

    Get better mate
