Great ride reports and as always Galey you write a ripper that I find myself hanging on
As for the above of course I got that from reading the story sounds lucky no one was hurt eh  To be clear I have only asked questions and quoted facts regarding the tubliss system my apology

Now get in with your report please mate :woohoo: I am stuck in Newcastle with work it would help pass the time

TB
Yeah Mick you should run the engine and bung the exhaust when hot. It is also to help prevent damp air / moisture in the air from entering through the exhaust valves if they are open allowing surface rust to settle on the valve seats and in the cylinder bore
I also always make sure my engine in on TDC so all the valve are shut

2 – 2.30 halfway road house putty rd? The burnt down one. Back through to Newy via Yengo, Watagans creek rd and Watagans eh?

So the day started early, I woke and couldn’t sleep I was wondering why it was just another ride, was it riding the 530 that was stopping me from sleeping. I was looking forward to giving it a run. I had helped put it together and had some input so from that side I was interested. The suspension side I was really looking forward to, here would be a PDS suspension that was setup for me. Yes it had over a K spent on it, it has the progressive spring but not only that more importantly it is valved to suit. As it turned out there was no faulting the handling of the bike in all the tight going, most of he day was 1st and 2nd gear stuff. The run up and down German track was quicker and I found the bike to be more nervous in the steering than I am used to, wasn’t going to crash nervous just twitchy. Maybe a click on the damper would have fixed it. Ok to the story
My trailer, two euro trash !!!!

Hi I will be your driver to day

My ride for the day KTM 530, 2011

Umm Rekulse for the ride, interesting

It has Stegpegz, only seen them used at Finke would be interesting

Tekinks improved suspension each end

Akraprovic pipe, sounded bloody nice. I have been fiddling with the jetting. The owner likes the spark arrester / baffle in but thus far I haven’t been able to get the jetting 100% with it installed. I ran with it out and the jetting was good.

Under bar damper

CPW oil tank same as Lefty’s adds to the too small engine oil capacity

Pivot Pegz, enough said

So of we went about 10 past 8. We must have just missed Jeffro (sorry mate) and the plan (just a rough one) was to ride the singles that run either side of the main track to the pines area. It’s 17 kms or so to the pines from the letter A so it would be a could warm up. The tracks have been used by the Watagns trail bike rally and have seem some traffic so ruts would be the order of the day.
Rock step down, Deejay spotted a dollar and jumped off to get it and pick his bike up

We continued on these style of 1st and 2nd gear tracks, over grown and rutted. Deejay showed how cool he is by cooling of in a big puddle. There was the odd drop going on in the pack by all accounts
it was slow going and hard work lots of paddling

Yeh mate she has spent more of her life on the dirt than on road.
I’m known to be fussy with having clean bikes/cars/house etc.
Dave
Ah that’s the go Dave
I like it will look into doing the same. The setup I have now is good but that maybe easier and I like the wire ring setupFussy umm  obsessive compulsive maybe

February 11, 2012 at 11:33 pm in reply to: Yamaha XT660Z Tenere DNA Cover Filter Skin Setup – No Tools Filter Skin Changes #216013That’s neat and tidy Dave well done. Some sort of reusable elastic or such retainer maybe better than the zip tie? Between yours and Nicks filter sock prototype there are some great ideas.
BTW Dave has that ever been off road gees Louise that’s clean under the seat

EAGLE`02 wrote:Well did he turn it on & off so it only registered on the main dirt roads thru the mountains ???Only what I saw
I suspect there were some wet conditions ?? We have had some good dumps the past couple of days
Well you saw wrong
Spot would have struggled in the heavy canopy for one. We rode the tracks next to the roads so that explains that the over ridden rutted things :woohoo:Now wait for the ride report
TB
EAGLE`02 wrote:Waiting, waiting for the report :whistle:Chicken was home hours ago looking at his Spot page, looks like he didn`t get into the singles at all ,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Another great misrepresentation of the facts. Chicken rode a heap of singles, that’s pretty well all we rode actually, rutted, rooted, rocky singles
I doubt there will be anyone on the ride that isn’t sore tomorrow :laugh:Ride report thread will be started later
TB
