:laugh:Sorry, i missed the TWO UP BIT
Not so good for that:huh:  Get off the gear Eags they aren’t good for anything radiator leaking, subframe breaking heaps of euro trash wouldn’t do the work that a DR, Tenere or Translap would over a few YEARS! But anyway back to Ock
After the conversation we had at my place Ock I cant see how the Transalp won’t do what you want to do. The two up business well the Tenere does it fine Salina and I have done Yamba to Foster easy in more or less one go at above legal speeds not to mention the bush tracks ets we have done. Transalp is a good enough compromise if that’s what te budget allows IMO

Go the Tenere better open terrain bike than the DR and will do all the other stuff the DR will as well. DR is cheaper but you get what you pay for. With an adventure bike it’s not about the money Mick. The DR s don’t seem to be as bullet proof as first thought from what we have been seeing lately, can back that statement up if need be. I own a Tenere and thought about replacing it for a DR but not now for no amount or money, I have built both and ridden both, not as much on the DR of course
( reckon two new Terenes will appear he soon replacing two DRs, as two of our punters update watch this space)

I don’t think means single track like we know single track BB do you Ock, you mean twin trails fire trails etc don’t you? Single trail is 30cm wide IMO

I read it Choot
“After lurking for a long time finally a first post here from me
About the defective bearing; I have modified the cush drive unit by making the chamber where the bearing fits in 15 mm. deeper allowing to fit a second bearing next to the original one. In this case you also have to change the little spacer making it fit in 2 bearings instead of one.
The result of 2 bearings is that the cush drive unit is far more stable, with as best result no more cush drive destruction and much longer chain life.
Ow, and my apologies for errors and other unusual English, but I’m Dutch”My take on that is someone failed a Cush drive bearing And they have fitted two bearings side by side. Won’t change the rubber wear but may improve the bearing life. I fit new wheel bearings and Cush drive bearings normally every 6 to 8 thousand kilometers they are far from worn but they have no chance of failing on the track that way

I weigh 115 kgs and carry some gear with me when riding. I found both ends a little soft for me and two weeks ago took out the number plate, indicators and ripped part of the back off in the process of hitting an erosion channel. The back just totally bottomed out. I found that the preload was down on #1 so I bumped it up to #7 and it was much better, but I still bottomed out on the same erosion channel yesterday and bent the replacement frame for the number plate.
I think it’s time I did something as the SA Govt charge $22 for each number plate I order!!!!!.
I was going to do the Ohlins thing but after reading Nick’s comments on this forum have decided to ask about the Teknic gear.
I do virtually all off road, Flinders Ranges and the like. Gravel and dirt roads with some bits of knarly sections thrown in to keep the blood pressure up.
I’ve got access to an ex Yamaha mechanic with his head screwed on so he can fit everything for me.
Any suggestions??
Nick will chime in tomorrow I am sure. I think they worked out they could build or supply the same Ohlins cheaper or the same price as OS but thats just a base customer Ohlins shock. The standard shock once modified is good as well. I have a half Ohlins half Sachs which is awesome its sort of a Nicks work in progress development test bed. Also when they modified our forks they brazed up some holes and then fitted the emulators..
Anyways better wait for the man
