Well if you organise a quad tour there mate I am in for sure. Maybe the same weekend as the other ride cover all bases ;)

BTW I am not doing as many rides as before now and am looking forward to a lot more in the pack riding like the birthday ride this year. Mal and Medogrocket doing saturday means I am free to ride wherever :woohoo:

I’ll vote for rec rego. :woohoo:

I can’t see how it will be the beginning of the end of our sport. The boneheaded, rednecks on MX/thumpers riding around the streets will always do it regardless if rec rego is available. They are the ones giving us a bad name. The guys that prefer to ride MX bikes as trail bikes are currently doing it illegally and rec rego would allow them to ride legally.

I would rec rego my ADRed bike as I don’t ride on tar roads and would save around $300 (a few tyres right there). Also I could rec rego my partners bike and she could come out riding with me in the forest and see all the great places we get to. That in itself is worth getting the rec rego up and running for me.

I wrote this last night and has since slept on the whole thing before I posted this (thats a first think before typed ha ha) I have made and some changes and added but here we go

I can’t argue with what you have here Mal you are right 100%.

My only thing is that the guys riding the un regsistered bikes (not just mx) now won’t spend the money and jump through the hoops I cant see them be bothered to set one up legally with all the requirements for rec rego which to do the first time will be expensive enough working head light tail light etc maybe have to pay someone to wire it and get it working why will they do that when they have gotten away with it for so long now. Remembering they will need to have it setup then get it passed the first time, and if it has to be inspected annually thats a whole new hassle and do you think the NSW gov will miss that money making grab, thats money for jam.  Then for the whole thing to really work most will need to do their Ls and Ps (most wont have it now because they didnt need it on their un regsistered bike) so there are two weekends not to mention the cost. The use of ADR compliance bikes only I guess eases all that and is setup ready and legal. The ADR bike they may need will be more expensive then their current mx bike but and more than the 300 they will save.

With an ADR bike I guess it suits the guy that only rides 10 or so times a year, wants to do the right thing. I would guess he isn’t the guy that rides illegally now but wants a way back into the sport or just to do the sport cheaper and is a generally right thing sort of guy. I support that as I do anything I can see and feel helps the sport
Of course there will be the people like yourself that will do it correctly to ride with your partner and do it properly for themselves and be much happier knowing that your partner is covered legally for herself and others. Being able to share and show  your other half would be good for sure.
I don’t reckon the guy with the bike that backs onto the state forrest who rides there now illegally for free will change and I guess that’s a whole other discussion care factor and giving a f&#k is the problem there I think. I also think most of the non compliance will be with younger people? I knows the large group of young guys at my work that ride their MX 450s in the bush around Clarence now aren’t interested when I spoke with a couple of them regarding rec rego months ago.

I want to be covered when I or someone I know has a have a head on with the ever increasing illegal and legal traffic in the bush, that’s my thing with all this to be honest I don’t care if they ride a thumpstar or a TM I just want the playing field legal because shit will happen. I don’t want to have our ride areas over ridden and lost forever. I don’t ride the Watagans anymore because for most parts they are over ridden and getting abused and yes I know that’s a whole other argument but increasing numbers will make it worse.

If parts of this post seem random I am sorry but that’s the whole thing for me I always felt that if they reduce the costs of green slips for bikes and have a no claim system things would be cheaper. It’s not rego that makes it expensive its the bloody green slip

Now I am off for a Bex and a lay down as all us old whinging men do

Thanks for reading but it’s only my opinion

I reckon just pay rego shut up and get on with riding
we canride where we want and are permitted 2 and if need be u can ride down any road u like to get to another track tif they change things it won’t be for our benefit
the sooner u realise that the better
goverments and corp bodies or whoever don’t change things to benefit someone else only themselves
if u can’t afford rego u shouldn’t have a dirt bike as they aren’t cheap either
    thats my 2c worth
    Hammer away

I knew it I knew it I knew it :) I did I did :) I knew if we let you talk for long enough you would say something that made sense Bob well done mate
