I am with Murph as well on the fence with this.
I wonder if they could have put their track else where with so much land. People that I know (wont say where because they may read it  ) on a very large property introduced their kids to bikes and then motocross. Their house was near the road as was the neighbours (friends of theirs) and a house across the road (more friends)
So soon it was thought the kids would benifet from a practice track and with all the land and machinery they had at their disposal they built their practice tracks between their house and their neighbours :silly:
Well after a while the neighbours approached and asked if the track (now used by the kids and the kids friends) could maybe be moved down the back. No was the answer it is our land we will do as we please! Well after a long and drawn out process they aren’t allowed to ride on the land period.
Salina and I talk about how I grew up on land and could ride for hours everyday. I had tracks built with machinery but Mum and Pop insisted that the be built of the furthermost paddock we had on the property which backed onto the bush.
I dont care how much of a bike lover you are, if it was near your place and it was non stop it would push your buttons after a while. But people will make a mountain out of a mole hill.
That said there needs to be a happy medium, the owners of the land needs rights as well for their kids to be able to ride. Thats why some people have land and it is their land.
Boulders right they are wankers, they wont compromise they have their agenda and are organised.
I read in the link Mick put about a state forest ride area for kids. Mick and I have had this discussion and the question I have is who is going to pay (its needs supervision, track maintance, arrowing for direction, there would be limits to the numbers etc etc etc) who wants that next door to them? The extra traffic, the rubbish, the noise etc etc. So it needs to be further out from town, then people cant be arsed driving their kids that far so the vacant land behind the tip, oval, bush behind home will do. The argument was put up the parents could supervise the state forest ride area. Really? parents most parents dont want to flag marshall at race days put the club make them (and they whinge about it) so how would that work when the irresponsible parent turns up with his pit bike, puts the helmet on the kid and cracks a stubbie?
I dont have land and my kids ride. They dont race so when we introduced them to bikes Salina and I knew it would mean taking them to ride parks (louee, pacific park and the likes) it would cost more but that decision was made. Maybe people should think things through a little more before they act, like when they buy a place with a track or kids on bikes next door?

Mines had a new drink of Motul 5100, air filters serviced, new wheels, near new 140 s12 rear, near new Dunlop front (test tyre) vortex mapping change and new switch, new bark busters and covers. The rear shock is out and Tekniks are servicing it ready for the weekend.
The kings bike is here and in true King form it came filthy dirty and with a list of things for me to do

I had high blood pressure and a few extra kgs on board.
I didn’t realise how unfit i was until i had a ride at Louee and didn’t really enjoy it, in fact i spent more time off the bike resting than riding.
Decided to do something about it.
Moved the bikes up one end of the garage, put in some gym equipment that i bought off ebay and went on a protien lifestyle change (read diet).
I wasn’t trying to become Mr Super Fit but just feel a bit healthier.
I had all the usual excuses about not having enough time and not being able to maintain a regular diet (which is basically a cop out).
Anyway i managed to loose 30kgs in about 7 months and have kept it off.
I walk every morning no matter if i am at home or travelling. I work out in my garage gym while watching DVDs at night when the family is watching TV. I can easily maintain the protein diet because i am basically a carnavore and protein is mainly meat.
I have been able to significantly reduce my blood pressure medication to a point where i expect to come off it totally on my next visit to the doctor. It’s not easy but if i can do it anyone can.
The only real issue is that you have to want to do it.
Once you start it bcomes a habit.Oh! by the way Mick, get that prostate checked, it is a blood test now, not like the old days, although they will still check the old fashioned way if they think there is a problem.(or if you like you can request the old way! up to you)
I have had a brush with prostate problems and if i hadn’t had regular visits with the GP i would have been unaware of the dangers.(early detection is best).

The 2011 is non compliant Boony, and weapon how do you know that   cause its yellow

Picko they are both great bikes you mentioned. Putting down my Honda hat for a minute they both have pros and cons. The only thing with the CRF is the air filters. I recently had a guy from Darwin in a training course that has a 08 CRF450X with he said 254hrs and the valves had only been shimed once. He washed he air cleaners in filter cleaner, then soapy water twice, rinsed in clean water, spun in a lettuce spinner and then dried in a dryer. (cloths dryer in his shed) His theory is the clothes dryer while drying the filter also gets rid of the fine fine dust that remains in all filters after you wash them. The dryer shakes it out and evacuates it out the front as a dryer does. Seems to work for him and I guess makes sense after what we were told by GHR when we went to finke. (they only fit brand new filters because of the fine dust I
mentioned before after washing)
Other then that the CRF’s I have ridden are a fine big, great brakes, nice gearbox heaps of power and feel good to ride, good suspension and they are a Honda. The Kato, Rocket has a 530 he does a lot of riding and he seems happy with his. It goes great, sounds great and you cant beat a big bore big
He did have the rings replaced and rocker bushes at around 110hrs or about there if my memory serves me, Rocket?. I think it was a year model thing soft rings or something. If you are in Sydney see Sutto for the Kato for sure, as for a Honda dealer the only I would recommend is Morris Motorcycles in Orange bit of a drive
Good luck glad its not me making the choice its tough

Well Tisco aka Scotty congrats mate your it now
TB
I hope they never come back Aaron for the reasons, to fiddly, snail cams seem either too tight, go one notch too loose  , bump the wheel and the cam spins around
TB
The reason they have been axed is the bolt style are faster when changing your wheel. In a 10min work period snail cams are slower. The bolt style you just bang the axle through, push the wheel forward and tighten done.
I am doing some tech videos soon and will demonstrate what I mean then
