Sorry Nick I went to bed early after being on the phone all night  Its a 5% chance of rain that week we are there and the week before its 0%
Thanks Boony that is reassuring as thats what I had been told, I have been watching the rain in QLD for the last week and they have been getting plenty but its been on the eastern, middle and up the top of QLD. I have been watching it and worrying for nothing now it seems. I spoke with Shaws transport allocator on Monday and they are still running double and triple road trains all up through there with no drama on the main roads through all of outback QLD. St George is 700 + kms as the crow flies from where we are going
He gave me some contact names and numbers and I spoke with a guy at the Innamincka Hotel last night, he said and I quote. “There has been nothing in the way of rain at Camerons or south where you blokes are going for weeks” “Conditions are near perfect although the roads are a little rough in spots” I asked what about the rain they had been happening in QLD this week and he said “Thats Queensland mate and its up the top and to far east to worry you blokes” and he finished with “Mate you guys are what 2 weeks away from getting here (laugh) we could be in bloody dought again by then”The only area we are going to give a miss is Tilpa (top middle of NSW) there is water laying everywhere there at the moment and around there where we were maybe going to come back through when we did an early draft of the route. Thats has changed when we decided to go up through SA and the Strzelecki track now anyway
I will speak with Camerons Corner store today and post what I find out this evening

Thats great Bollocks except leave your generator I will supply one that I know will be safe for our chargers
I will also provide the long extension lead and light stand.I will provide one toolbox for all, I tub with misc fluids and bits and pieces. And a mixed grab kit.
We will talk tonight
I fitted the new chain and sprockets last night, I fitted a rivet link instead of a clip link for reliability (I havent had a clip link fail I just did it for piece of mind on this trip). I purchased a riveting tool from Sutto’s, thanks Mal
I greased all my lever pivots and checked the new spare levers would fit
packed a new spark plugRepacked the bags, and the spare kits for everyone that will travel in the service vehicleTB
:woohoo: :woohoo: 282hr and 54mins :woohoo: :woohoo:Great read and videos guys, bloody awesome actually :woohoo: . I lived at Anna Bay for a year and used to ride the dunes and frequent the tavern  A mate I worked with lived near the lane and he rode a Honda 250 two stroke trike, it was a weapon of a thing on the dunes and would go near anywhere up there
Murphs Kato seemed to be cruising in the videos compared to the strokers although I am sure the strokers would have been easier to ride in the tighter sand trails being lighter.
Great seeing Moto out in his bling setup, he does live in paradise up there for sureThanks for the pictures and vidoes

Good report Boony, missing pictures though  Look forward to riding Nundle sooner rather then later

No apology necessary Bruce please, we just dont want to share the secret as Mick said
TB
Why Bruce whatever are you going one about? Its just a 10 year old bike that did the safari without an engine change (all the bikes in front of it cant say that
)Its a good result but I am not surprised to tell the truth, I own one I am in the know
They are a good thing
Its already been mentioned in the safari thread as well mate

As an after thought Mick, why did the circlip come off? You dont hear of this much yet there are a lot of bikes out there running circlips on the countershaft sprockets and they all couldnt be new or in perfect condition.
If I were you I would be checking rear sprocket the countershaft sprocket alignment especially since not long ago you fitted a longer swingarm ( I know its done some work since then but?) bent rear sprocket, check your circlip groove etc, everything happens for a reason mate and kids safety and our own shouldnt be taken lightlyTB

Then it’s back to Krusty’s and trailer into his garage for the night. I’m doing this to save myself time on Sunday as I can’t get away until 8.00am. I’m on ruggie duty saturday night.I hope this suits all concerned.

Cheers Gaz no probs mate

Use a new circlip every time (minimal cost
) and clean the sprocket with petrol and the new circlip, fit them and put some salastic over it to help retain the circlip. Most circlips like that get stretched and shouldn’t be reused after one use, further more people normally over open the circlip when fitting it, you should just open it enough to get it just on if you understand what I am trying to say. A good inspection of the bike pre riding would also be helpful for noticing a stretched loose circlip. That chain would want a real good clean and inspection now Mick I thinkLucky escape for Connor, cant say I would want to experience anything like that
