Quote:I have kenda ultra heavy duty tubes that have done about 3000km , are they worth changing ??I think they Michelins are the best tube around (only my opinion from experience), then the Bridgestone ultra heavy duty and then the Metzeler heavy duty tubes (they are only thicker on the bottom)
The bridgestones are the same as the Michelins really but I had such a good run out of the Michelin thats why I lean that way.

Well this arvo I visited Sutto’s and picked up some of my bits and pieces. I got my tyres, front being a Pirelli MT21 which I fitted as I wont be riding it anymore

I used a new Michelin ultra heavy duty tube. I recently threw out a Michelin Ultra heavy duty that I had been running in the rear of my bikes since 2004 been in two XR600’s and my XR650. It had done over 60,000kms true  and had massive rubber balls in it  it had never been patched it was only that a railway spike got it on the Sofala ride
Sutto’s had them on special so it was a no brainer from experience
You can see how thick the tubes are here

I fitted a new Continental TCK80 which is standard fitment on a BMW 1200 and KTM690’s I think. They arent cheap for sure ( I got my Old Bull discount thanks ) The most expensive dirt bike tyre I have ever bought  I fitted it this arvo with another heavy duty tube of course

New wheel bearings fitted all around. New chain purchased being a DID 520VM Gold professional or something another 170 bucks retail again thank god for our discount
Its sad to say but the bike sits here ready to go even has my overnight emergency cloths and dehydrated meals etc
Reality is I need to change the oil and filter, clean the air filter, fit rear brake pads and drop the bike to the local Yamaha dealer for some warranty work and its ready as am I

435.5 hrs and we will be sitting at the pub having a beer ready to go in the morning
An excited TB :woohoo:
From inside race HQ
Terrible news for Jake’s title defense and the GHR team… the third retirement for their 2010 effort… Glenn’s buggy went out on Day One with a mechanical glitch, AJ went down hard and broke his hand on Day Two, when he collided with Todd Smith… and now Jake is out.
Look’s like GHR’s streak of four Safari wins in a row for HONDA, comes to an end in 2010.
And Ben’s in the driver seat
