Got to file / grind it a bit mate it will still fit

Boony we ran 14 / 41 on Chops Banana and I rode it in the tight tight Orange pine single (mountain bike tracks some of them) and it goes fine and its steep in spots.
IMO DR’s are under geared and have such a strong bottom and mid range that doesnt shine because they are getting the pick handles rev’ed out of them just my opinion
TB
Krusty re-geared his DR for the corner and trialed it on the weekend and was very impressed. He ran 15 / 44

Sweet spot was about 115 but she would take 120-125 before the revs started to concern me..I heard him say his was going to try a 42 I think. 1st gear still seemed low enough as I saw him climb a bank to the road at the Jurds Pub easy enough
Hope that helps Boony, but I thought you were going to the corner next year but if its Birdsville can I come please please please

Quote:I will pick up the tent on Thursday and I’ll get some pics then, it’s a $780 tent that’s been copied exactly by Black Wolf and it’s $289 from them guys, it’s still much more than I thought I would spend on a tent but it will hopefully be doing lots more trips like this
the mattress however isn’t cheap ($300) but I need a good sleep almost as much as a beer after work!!
I also checked out multi fuel stoves, amazing, they run on any fuel , and as we have unleaded in the bikes I thought it would save on gas. I know Bollocks will be serving gourmet roadkill each day but the stove could be a good back up. !!

Nick
Yeah I will carry a stove everyday for a coffee mid day or a meal who knows (or the unsupported overnight stay)
Yeah a good matteress is the go, its sort of why I am packing my swag it perfect

Sorry guys want meant to be a depressing thread, mates plight just started me thinking
TB
Of course Nick. That tent sounds like a ripper any pictures? I reckon I have everything down pat for what I will carry day to day for the emergency overnight if needed. Rode the bike with it all bar the little gas bottle and it seems great. I wasn’t happy until mid ride on Sunday but have come around somewhat.
I expect this thread to start singing with updates, ideas and links now Krusty is laid up for a week

Yeah works for me ECKS

Good job Rocket, reckon you got home in the top 50 thats real good mate. How was the track compared to previous years? I heard last week that they has cut the first 20kms out because of the rain and moved the start down the road  ?? Its always a great event which is why it fills in hrs I guess

Had a nice lunch and rode back through Singleton to Maitland and home, all on the tar but still a nice ride even if it was a bit cold. The Strom went like a trooper (Stromtrooper that is
)all day, I will have to get the rear beefed up a bit though, managed to bottom out a couple of times on some of the bigger bumps with the 2 off us on getting up around the 200kg mark most of it me. I now know I can get close to 400Km to a tank even with a big load on which will be good for the corner ride.Hey Jeffro sorry we didnt get out there but thats the way it works sometimes mate
Sounds as though you had a great time and banked some brownie points as well maybe
Hey any ride tar or not is better then spending the day in the shed looking at them

I look forward to see the big girl in the flesh mate

Hey Kat I gave him plenty of support on the track side for a while  I only gave him what I expected when I did mine three weeks ago honest
I rang and checked he got home safe as well
You shouldn’t worry about your trail pace, you travel good you really do honest you did a great job today.
How you didnt fall at that causeway corner was beyond me and I thought it had more arse then a bus load of poofters   But then while riding home tonight after we all went our seperate ways, I started replaying it in my mind and realised you never panicked during the whole front end then rear end loss and thats why you rode it out, well done.
Yes I packed everything that I will be taking to the corner with me except the tiny gas bottle and panniers, the racks and the bike handled it so well. I used the standard semi road tyres and felt confident enough all day to point the front end wherever I wanted it, for that I think I need to thanks Teknik’s.
Two river cruises woman two river cruises!!!! Some people are never pleased

After a serious grass track session the other day, Medogrocket and I had an impromptu informal meeting over a few beers and some Erzberg DVDs for inspiration and we’ve thought of some more hills and tracks in the area. We’ll try and slip out at some stage soon and have a go on them.
:woohoo: :woohoo:
I’m in let me know when
Knees good this morning I may wander at to windsor for a look at the start or even Putty, where is Salina
It fine and easy Mick honest. Follow the directions from the Putty turn of (Putty sign) to Rasberry junction, again sign posted but also in the book. From there follow it into the valley through a farm and a few gates its a road, its gazetted Chicken and I have used it a lot (he went through when he rode up to the Christmas Party at Louee on his own) then back onto the bitumen and through to Denman for fuel and food
Trust me Mick its easy
TB
I am out of this ride, I have hit my knee again this arvo and it is giving me hell

The ride can still continue without a drama should you guys wish to go ahead.

Meet Lotsa and Mickp The book then has the route to Rasberry Junction, turn left there and follow in down through the farms and onto Martindale rd and into Denman, fuel, feed and return guys simple please do it still its easySorry TB
