Thanks for the welcome Puddles, as I stated elsewhere I wasnt buying a brand but a bike that suited my needs and the Yamaha seems to tick all the boxes. That said I would have rather walked then ride a KTM

the sponsors for this site are great and really do look after us, i think this has been discussed before but IMO maybe all members should be given a member number – which in turn they give to the sponsors when dealing with them. this would verify their membership and also protect our sponsors

    cheers Hatto

And what in turn stops members from giving that number to their wooduck mates? Recently a member wanted to buy bulk tyres for his mates that weren’t members and didnt want to become members but they then turned up on our birthday ride for the fun and ride but still didnt want to be members so what do we do?

I will sort a membership number out Hatto in the next month or so ;)

Our sponsors are fantastic, I deal with the all as OBT and they are enthusiastic very helpful if they are not as I just described them I would like to know because that is why they have been selected. We dont have a Honda or Yamaha dealer (both which I own) because we haven’t found a dealer we would or have had recommended. Basically I am saying on the whole our sponsors are here because of their support and service not just because they threw dollars at us.

Yeah Hatto it will do the two up job for Sal and I just nice and the adventure biking for me at a good pace when setup as well (yeah I know adventure bike at pace doesn’t make sense but I love sooting along  )

The XR will I hope benefit from this purchase as well as it seems as though I may have just saved enough from buying this bike for a set of talon hubs for my baby ;)

I am picking it up this evening and have it booked in to Tekniks when I go to Brisbane at the end of the month. Mal from Sutto’s came up last night and I completed my order / wish list for him to chase up and have from me to fit on the weekend I hope before Sal and I go for a overnight ride

The bike wasn’t very nice to ride. With the throttle wide open in 2nd gear at 150Km/h the engine was making a very erratic noise.

I don’t think it has a proper rev limiter, I think it must use the valves impacting the cylinder to reduce revs, that’s what it was doing when I rode it anyway ;)

If you drop it back to 1st Moto and rev it harder it will do better ;)

Shit I laughed when I read that Moto

    Cheers
