OK there is a guy here the specialises in certain electroplating and black chrome was all. He also specialises in chrome on aluminum and automotive stuff. We deal with him at Cummins for our display engine and show stuff and he is great the best we found. Good luck with your stuff ;)

I have a ute and I’d prefer the carrier :p

My triton ute is bloody high to load in and out of and I lose the tray with the bike in it and I can’t easily put the tray cover on and off so no security.

I’ve put up with the tray for a year and I’m either getting the carrier or an easy trailer in the near future. If I had the room it’d be a good box trailer no questions asked but I don’t.

I agree though, you need to consider that you’ll have 120kgs odd hanging off your tow bar which is substantial.

I have been reluctant to share my point of view here because you have done the leg work with the manufacturer and got the whole bulk buy happening and I know that’s never easy for lots of reasons.

I have seen the aftermath years ago of a bike falling of one of these. The tie downs have no angle and thus when the safety strap comes loose or fails the bike rocks and well this one fell off :( Rooted was never fixed

Also as you said it is 120kgs plus the weight of the rack itself, then you have the extra force as it goes up and down its a hell of a lot. I agree with Ollie about smaller bikes maybe and I appreciate your lack of room Trent and again the effort of making things happen ;) Yeah that ute of yours is bloody high

I rode across the grass yesterday on mine (dry grass) and nearly went arse up  they have nothing in the way of traction of the black top. Made me think and have a lot more respect for those motard racers on the dirt sections
