    TB: just over 6000KM.

That means my XR would have just had its 7th Major services / engine rebuilds, and using your average speed to my klms my bike has done nearly 530hrs ;) for only oil and filters if I worked it out right

Shit using the same average speed Chicken’s old 600 had done over 1000 hrs  for one clutch and for only oil and filters :P

    Cheers for the info WB

The BMW mechanic said the 450 motor is like 1 cylinder of a F1 car, only designed to do 70hrs before a new piston, rod and crankshaft are needed.

WTF you are kidding, replace what, maybe the whole bike  How many klms does it have on it for the 128 hrs you have done?

I hear what you’re saying TB. When you are talking about warranties I reckon there will always be good and bad experiences. The only thing I’d add is that I would never buy a bike for its warranty

So true on both accounts Kram ;)

I reckon it is. My dealer doesn’t need me to drop it back every five minutes for a service and when I had a small problem they took to part off the demo immediately and had me back out there. The warranty system may not be perfect but who else is offering it???

That’s good to know Kram140, I am only asking is all, and I dont know any other manufacturer that offers a warranty like it as you say.

I know Tiny has had some speedo problems they looked after easily if I remember right

I here wikdbeemer is having some issues with warranty at the moment too. My opinion may be skewed by past experiences but generally warranty issues are a pita regardless of the party supplying the warranty. I believe Bemmers problem is that he didnt do the 70hr service which is all but and engine rebuild  so now they are saying you voided it

Did Mal have the opportunity to cover it up front then argue down the line or would that have led to a case of “you paid ergo you admit fault/responsibility”

Mal would have to anwser that

No worries Mal, I don’t think I can do it again next year as I don’t think I wont have the bike fitness and speed back by then.
I reckon I could be a help and the close accommodation would be great
