    operator error I would say I got 40 thousand + kms on XR’s and never had the problem, like you said landing hard with the throttle pinned would do it, was a 400 wasnt it.
    The 600’s wear the 2nd 3rd gear drive dogs in high klms bikes but never seen it personally
