yea yea ‘the great race’ is on.

drivers from a minority sport not good enough to make it on the world stage, driving 2 makes of low tech family cars.

everyone, including the commentators, keep telling me over and over again that it is special. would it be so special if people didn’t wank on about it?

OK bring it on bone heads, i can take it :P

you can fight me in this thread over the weekend whilst i out riding (unless i’m hiding under bed because of the rain)

Another of Champo’s opinions thrust forward eh?

A minority sport maybe champo but its Australia’s biggest form of motorsport chosen by Australians and is supported very well

Drivers that can’t make it on the world stage, most of the top drivers have driven overseas at some stage in some form and done well for themselves

Driving 2 makes of low tech family cars, nothing low tech about a V8 supercar only thing on show here is you ignorance and arrogance towards something you know nothing about but am happy to call other people names that may enjoy it

No one bagged your music festival last weekend your views etc irrespective of what they thought, you could show some respect for other peoples interests even if they aren’t yours

PS I am not going to bathurst

I would have thought there was enough fighting recently Rodney regarding opinions and thoughts why do you want to start it again and then hide

I have ridden with you twice Boony and I have to say honestly I feel your problem is not the bike or the weight of the bike its your lack of bike fitness. When we stopped for lunch on the Jurds ride your where rooted, more then one person said it. I know it wasnt the stuff you are used to riding in etc but if you rode more your muscles you use on the bike would get stronger for riding the bike.

Yes you will gain so much from setting bars up etc bike fitness is a big thing mate the more often I ride the better I can ride more comfortably for longer.

Just a thought I had regarding this thread this morning, I am not having a shot at you just trying to share some experince

    are they lighter than standards?

You for real Boony, a few GRAMS in a set of foot pegz

Run standard tubes instead of heavy duty that will save more weight then foot pegz and its a sprung mass way more inportant, or better still cut the knobs of your tyres that will save as much as a muffler  :P

I really think the cr design is brilliant (simple, naturally progressive, out of the way, protected, safe, does not change the ergonomics, tuneable for different speeds, cheap to make, easy to seal, will not come loose, do not need to relocate the headlight, effective) but I assume Honda has a patent on that

It doesnt work that from the Honda team, doesnt have enough leverage, doesnt have enough resistance, cant be adjusted or doesnt have enough stroke. I asked when I saw a bin full of them in the workshop before finke, marketing ploy I was told.

we went out on a wet track. OM it was so different to when we went out (dry track) the karts would understeer masively,

I still have a tony kart with a clubman engine on it that I raced for a few years and got a lot of trophies :)

    mitox_vortex.jpg

That class of karts are allowed to run cut tyres or wets when it rains so when racing at a wet event you loosen everything on the chassis including the centre rear axle bearing, side pods and the floor panel to allow the chassis to flex and get more heat in the tyres. You pump the tyres up really hard so instead of being flat on the road surface area they are pointed sort of and you raise you seat up so you can lean forward and get more weight on the front, if you don’t have time to raise the seat you sit on an old tyre and finally move the front wheels out and rears in so the fronts clear the water for the rears as best as slicks can.
