As other have said circlip pliers are no good for piston rings s they don’t have the lugs and hiles to use them. I could do with a set for the exhaust on the little 200 though…..

Moto we arent talking about the piston rings mate  we are talking about the circlips that retain the piston pin

The cable ties are to compress the rings into the bore but AB there should be enough of a taper to but the rings in through the bottom of the bore I would have thought if you are careful without the cable ties

Barretts, and yeh we are regetting,, Im not after the power,, just trying to get the wheight down to help with fatigue on long runs.. not to mention to round up the 450 quakas(again) and them KTM thingys

At the risk of sounding hard Boony none of the above will happen. Banna here on the site has a DR400 that has everything done to it and he has spent thousands and it wouldn’t smoke a standard 450 they arent that sort of bike. And name it his bike has had it done, cams head work, more cams, dyno runs, exhausts, modified air intakes, cams, re-jetting, pistons, 440cc kit and more cams and dyno runs.
They are a heavy bike that’s life, the 4 to 5 kilos you would remove after spending some major bucks you will in my opinion not notice. Very sorry don’t mean to sound hard ol mate

As far a a pipe goes I fitted a Barrett to the project bike and am pretty sure I can get you a deal on one any colour you want as I have a contact I could call on when your ready and could even give you the jetting specs and part numbers to do the jetting yourself ;)

#TB bragging about his speed on the CONSISTANCY trial….

I didnt Menace, the race was between Moto, Dan and I only. You bought it up when I was announcing the winner that night much to my surprise as I hadnt mentioned it. It was only between the 3 of us that tried for the fastest time. As I said at the time when announcing the winner I wasn’t going to mention it because I didnt do two runs nor did I want to

It was something that was some fun between us :P

And for the record I am going to say “I was the fastest, there you go!”

There are still a couple of spots left for this ride if anyone is interested

I am doing a ride starting at 8am from just outside of Orange. Saturday mornings ride will consist of all pine single trail, after about 3 hrs then a pub lunch in town and refuel, we will then ride back out to another pine forest and bush for a couple of hrs of all single trail.
After which we will ride back to the cars (parked at my parents property) fuel up and put on our back packs with clothes for an overnight stay at Hillend Pub, we will then ride to Hillend via a mixture of fire trails, dirt roads, one big long creek crossings and the Bathurst / Hillend Bridle trail.

    Overnight Stay Hillend and refuel

Sunday leave Hillend after fueling at the servo, travel out through Long Point crossing via fire trails and twin trails to Mullion Creek where we will have fuel stored. We will then spend a few hrs riding in what I think is the best single trails I have ridden, Moto, LC, Champo and I really enjoyed them when we rode out there in April

Ride is a grade 4 at a grade 3 pace

    Any Ideas

Looking at Go pro wide angle 5mp seems a bit bulky for the top of your hemet though?

I’m only 4 ft off the ground and i seem to be always ducking my head ,

could be an expensive $300 the way I ride at times
do they get as good footage when mounted on handlebars or somewhere a bit lower

have read the review that people listed 12 months ago

any more opinions or developments B)

    Bob

Fester it doesnt matter if you wear the boots once a year or twice a day you still need protection and you get what you pay for, sorry but thats what it comes down to.
