I think this will be a cracker of a ride and even though it is the week before Louee I would be there expect for my selfish sister having her 21st (damn hide of her  ) I know STM will put on a great turnout, plenty of photos please guys and ride safe
TB
Oh and dont forget my seat strap, do you need the measurements again
ha ha your  face
You said you would clear up all the above points mate that I listed / mentioned above and you didn’t is the only thing Dave I am meaning about keeping your word, the rest of it is life as normal
I dont forget a thing ask Mick, Moto and SalinaI am over the thread, and will talk to bull about it as I don’t think on the whole issue you know your arse from your elbow
TB
Sorry Bull
Dave
You have done it again and you haven’t kept your word
No one had to cool of and I never had to concede to a thing as I said from the very start and you cant understand for whatever reason “I think there are some benefits I just don’t know if they are justified”
* It is still a compromise
* It may improve some systems maybe even all, even 1/2 a % is an improvement
* You can a change where the cooling system will work better in relation to rpm range
* It is far better suited to smaller engines then large
* And you make an engine run cooler, and cant tell me is it to cool
* You have have no dyno testing and no gas analysis to support any of this
The above are the points we agreed to on the phone, and I took your word that you would come on the thread and explain that to all and you didn’t, just be a smart arse regarding Moto and I, we have only tried to get information to the claims you made in the first post
I have even started on your theories that bike manufacturers only make the cooling system work enough so you will have to buy parts from them and blah blah blah
As far as you being Bull’s booking agent, I think you have caused him no end of heart ache here in this thread
TB
PS The money I was holding for you as requested for Louee I will deposit this weekend and can you please bring the remaining bits for Lochie’s bike to Louee
Sorry again Bull

Quote:Without going into very expensive testing there is some cheap and easy tests to do first.Get a clear bottle and fill it 1/4 with mixed coolant as you would use it and shake if there is foam after it probably wont be suitable to run through a water pump as it will cause cavitation.
Get a 1.25L cola bottle and cut the bottom off it and push a 1m piece of 5/8 heater hose into the neck of the bottle. Remove the top radiator hose and fit the other end of the funnel to the top radiator or the y piece suppling the top of the radiators. With another piece of 5/8 hose install onto coolant outlet on the cylinder head putting other end into funnel. Fill the system and start motor you can check the flow and signs of bubbles or cavitation. You can also check pump pressure at idle by lifting the hose up from the funnel till the flow stalls.
21 inches of water column = 1psi.To check the system under pressure you can get some heat proof tubing and fit it in line top and bottom hoses and exit from water pump.
There are several ways to check temp. the heat stickers are fairly accurate and dont need to drill holes for thermocouples but they are the most accurate.
I would be more than happy to discuss this with anyone at Louee as long as you buy the rums while i talk
Cheers for that Bull, will chat at Louee, and I will buy  Hey as good as heat tabs are they are really only ball park for figures like you said

Quote:Re: springs. i have 3 shocks with evidence of unwanted spring flex. the shock bodies have marks on the where the spring has contacted due to flex. i reckon this can happen on my elsinore just due to riding over rough ground. the springs in the elsinore forks would be in constant contact with the walls. also give your bike a rev in the garage and watch the spring. unwanted spring flex existstherefore i’m not going to join in and accuse my mate of any dishonesty or stupidity. he does not work with yamaha or james stewart. and i don’t think that yamaha would do a press release on this. so his information is chinese wispers.
but i do reckon that if you had and exhaust too close to a spring, it is possible for contact.
i like what yamaha has done
on topic but in a new direction.
i hope the seat on the yamaha does not get too hot for wr useHang on compare apple V apple, how thick is the spring on your twin shock 1975 honda against the thickness of a late model single shock spring Chalk and Cheese and the lack of preload on the springs of your 1975 bike would be half of that on a shock for a late model single shock bike of course they would vibrate when rev’ed with half the preload, remember we started talking about a late model single shock
Also all long fork springs contact the tubes, all of them I am told, they dont have the tension, support, or size that stop them from doing itIts Chinese whispers alright and you need to relax no one accused your mate of any dishonesty or stupidity just make a joke about it and the posting of it champo its all good, healthy chit chat

I think thats what the  was for Champo

Yeah thats right Mick, I like it but used to really worry the back flipper it used to really piss me of but I know to expect it from that person now so it doesnt worry me, the other 99.9% that go are the reason those that organise them do it

Next year Dan D and I are organising a charity ride to raise money so we will see how that goes

I therefore surmise that maybe what he saw was the shock movement from a parrallel universe where everything is in fact the opposite causing, in this case, the spring to expand radially as opposed to compressing vertically :laugh:Just the fact that Champo put the post up about the spring leads be the believe champo is using what his mate isn’t
TB
*I in no way think champo takes any sort of drugs illegal or other wise is a joke
Thanks for the offer ECKS, the money is not the point I had more than $1000 worth of fun that weekend and didn’t ride the 2nd day

The bit that really grinds on me is the people that have the complaints normally say it behind your back they tell someone one thing and when questioned or on the site will say the complete opposite they must think people are fools or they are themselves. People talk it gets back. Thing is people know so they are kidding themselves, a PM or phone is the better way as well.
If you are going to organise a big ride you got to weigh up the lumps and bumps against the good bits.

Mick your right but have to let it go. It happens every ride I run, Hillend ride breakfast for example, was changed from $10 to $15 that cost me $35 because people wouldn’t or didn’t for whatever reason pay the extra $5 and it was a great breakfast.
Someone will whinge about the route taken, how long you stop, how rocky it is, the dust, the time the ride starts, it was to easy, it was to hard, you left at the start time that had been advertised all week but they aren’t ready, they had to sit on a corner for to long because of someone having a flat tyre, someone will whinge about something. But there’s normally only one and I am sure if they think about it and be fair dinkum they would realise the world doest rotate around them and they are part of a group on a ride. Then there are the people that have a great time every time take the good and the bad and enjoy it so the good makes the bad not even worth worrying about.
Its human nature and it happens, whatever trevor I say everyone is different it makes the world go round some how
As far as sunny corner goes, go and pay and support the event I say, me I choose not to go because reasons that are my own, but money isn’t it. I would think it would be more of a social event then a ride
