Its still new the web site layout for me , congrats on the new job.
Hey when you got a couple of weeks you might sit down and slowly and carefully read the moto cool thread please, you maybe able to answer some of the questions for the others. I am happy after a couple of long phone calls with Rat I know it works, some bikes will really benefit from it others not so much.
I am a believer within reason but also know that no cooling system will be perfect at all rpms and temperatures but everything can be tuned and improved within reason.
Please whenever you do look at it, look at it with an open mind as I know we all tried. There have been offers made and mine still stand as I am sure the other will as well.
Again congrats on the new job and am looking forward to having a rum at Louee mate.

Welcome back Bull, I for one missed you

Installed a Stage 2 cam so took the opportunity to add new valves, guides, piston, rings, gudgeon pin, bearing, cam chain and sprockets. Polisport Headlight and front guard. LED indicators and brake lights. New chain and spockets set up with 15tooth front for Dual Sport use and 14 tooth spare that takes a few minutes to swap for tight trails. Fully rebuilt swingarm. Brand New black anodised rims and heavy duty spokes. New Airfilter. Renthal Bars and risers. Barkbusters. Evans Waterless Zero pressure radiator fluid. New Discs front and rear. — The only problem with this bike is you’ll end up towing home KTMs everytime you head out! — Please submit an enquiry and i shall get back to you asap.I lifted this straight from an ad for an XR 650, what a tosser.

Quote:thanks for that tb. i was curoius why i shoundn’t run my 125 pipe on my 300.actually i’m getting a longer pipe made for the 125.
What does a longer pipe do on two stroke, or which bit will be longer, I know nothing about two stroke pipes and would rather learn from someone then goggle

And to the top comment, why what would happen if you ran a 125 pipe on a 300, again lack of two stroke knowledge

springs compress, twist, do all sorts of flexing. and i’m told expandand radially
shocks also pivot.thats why there is a gap between your spring and airboot
I did but I wanted to get my facts correct, so I rang a shock re builder and when he stopped laughing at me  he said that the deflection would be so small it couldnt happen because the shock couldnt be that close to the exhaust, heat would kill it before anything else, he also has a shock dyno and said when he does my rear shock he can show me. I then went and measured the gap between my air box and shock. I looked on youtube to explain it better.
Please see my previous post on the 1st page to help explain

Quote:i was also told a few weeks ago (from an undisclosed source) that they originally wrapped the pipe around the shock. but james stewart kept wreaking the pipe when the spring expanded radially. :dry:Are you expecting me to believe Champo that the spring is expanding outwards to the point it was touching the exhaust let alone damaging it? A spring compresses it doesnt blow outwards like a paper bag. I chinese bike one might

Firstly the shock absorber would run out of stroke before the spring should, also the springs compresses it doesn’t expand outwards anywhere like that. My XR rear spring is so close to the intake boot I cant fit my little finger between it and it doesn’t touch with my fat arse bottoming the rear out from time to time. Lastly I would thing Bubba would have the best money suspension that money could buy including enough technicians to make sure he doesn’t have a rear shock spring that expanding outwards instead of compressing as it is supposed to. If the spring expanded instead of compressing anything like it would need to to damage the exhaust you couldnt control the compression rate of the spring. As the below video shows even with two tonnes force the springs still don’t blow out sideways bugger all

Sorry but in mine opinion you undisclosed source is dreaming

Quote:I meant shimming the valves, I can measure the tolerances. That said, I do have to bring the trailer down anyway so could just stick the bike on too….As I explained on the phone we need to measure the clearances before we shim or find out if it even needs shimming and then what shims we need. You also don’t have any shims, so with that in mind and the fact you said no on the phone and maybe here I say make your bloody mind up or forget the trailer part you can stick the bike up your (horn sound) !!
