Might order one meself & hope it goes missing, so the blonde assistant can deliver for me too B)
The product must be great too, as DanD`s 450 makes him look “real good”

Thats what amazes me, is everyone saying Dan is quick since he got his 450, well no people Crash and I were talking about how quick Dan was at the Caves to Caves on the Sunday arvo just before we found Aidan and he was on the 250, no he has always been quick, now he is just more entertaining and quick

Ok T/B now I have “feel” at the lever, probably 2x the stopping power at lower speeds, but still not enough for full on stoppies, can loft the rear about 6″ with full grip so now I’ll complement it with a CRF caliper when I find one, they slide straight onto the YZ hanger and my pads fit as well, again Ta T/B, is the best they’ve ever been so far.

    BC

CRF caliper eh, will get back to you ;)

Yeah yeah TB, but it begs the question why FIM would dump the 450 class when all the manufacturers mass produce them?

Unless the manufacturers actually want it this way so they can re-invent and re-sell the enduro bike?

I cant see much point in down sizing the bore/stroke of a 450 unless the whole bike is also re-engineered to save weight.
Smaller sleeve and rod wouldn’t save much weight, if any.

I heard it had a lot to do with speed and power outputs and safety

    read this http://www.motosouth.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20953

    or this http://www.vitalmx.com/news/press-release/KTM-Welcomes-FIM-Changes-in-Motocross-Regulations,2395

Here is what Stefan Everts said about the whole down sizing but would he really know much :P

Stefan Everts, team boss of KTM’s factory team and 10-times MX World Champion is particularly positive about this prospect, saying: “This is definitely a very good move. With development of the latest technology, I am sure that riders will in fact be able to go quicker on a bike less than 450 cc. These will be lighter and more fluid machines that are also better suited to the current track layouts. This is valid beyond the Grand Prix racing scene and it will be excellent for amateur and hobby riders. The 450 cc bike is much too powerful for a amateur.”

Or because it didnt make enough power to start with as it was a BMW :P

Nah sorry the first answer I reckon
