i think you and your speedo need calibrating!

You get 165km out of a std 525 with std gearing gear it up and put a stroker crank and big bore kit and 196 is quite achievable
Yes Bull it was a blast that day, I think it actually had another 5-10 ks in it as I had not reached full revs and I got scared as I was running a front dirt nobby with a motard rear
196 locked in my ride computer log
Yes Menace 196 is true Buddy
No way Squirrels right you saying its faster then the factory 505 at finke
I have a trail tech and it always gives top speeds of 199, if its a mag sensor pick up its wrong, I only believe mine because it was a GPS (and its 30 kph less)

Air filter Bull wont stop the rocker bushes wearing out, ask Rocket, its common, like CRF valves
Rocket tell him

Its going back on later Menace for a Caves to Caves or a longest weekend style ride, but its best outright traction is gone and I have some roost chucking to do to Boony
It has done a good job

2 x bore repair $300 ea
2 x piston and gudgon pin $90ea
gaskits $100
4 x ring sets $60ea
$1120:blush:
no oil yet or fuel as it drinks 2x my 4tand there is 2t oil that is big $$$$ per lt top shelf stuff
I dont want to defend two strokes but Crash and I rode and raced a CR250 for 4 years and never touched anything, besides they are so cheap to do up.
Why did it have a bore repair your quote?
KTM 530 rebuild at around 100hrs ask Rocket and Mick reckons ANTS needs doing
Bull two are coming back as they are so much cheaper to run and maintain then 4 strokes
Thats way of the money sorry Bull, check your calculator and where you buy your parts
sorry

At this stage I would say its a good thing, not much dearer than a retread, the case construction is known, it seems to at this stage grip as well on my 650 as well as a M12. I am running it with a Moouse, Mick is running his with a tube. The one I am using has done around 750kms and is wearing very well but time will tell.

Quote:Yep you’re right T/B that smoker of pink cigars from that mag has been playing on my mind, here we are just , thinking beforehand and being considerate and measured in our advice and views, yet we’re not circulating a well known branded magazine founded by two legendary men and built by one of those men into a respectcable and believeable tome of our pastime, that was the epitome’ of fairplay and “tell it warts and all” GE spoke out against smoking in the 70s’ knowing full it would lose him a huge part of his advertising of the time, yet this current crew pander to the highest bidder, should just be renamed to “just another glossy sales brochure”.BC
I haven’t purchased said mag for over 10 years, as a young Adult I used the read about and the thoughts of GE, we bike riders in this country in my opinion owe him and another particular individual a great deal for where we are and what we have, but it is being eroded at a rapid pace for the sake of the mighty dollar
I encourage punters / regular guys on this site that spend their hard earned money to give their honest view that we as a bunch of old has beens and coulda beens can understand, that is a real value test that I value more then someone getting everything for free telling me its the ducks guts so the supplier will give them more
I have been offered things for free to test since the site has grown and do a write up about, but if I dont pay for it then arent I obligated to say something nice, yes so I pay. (not always full retails thats true) I also tell whoever that if its crap I will say in my opinion its crap, I may just return it and say nothing, if it is ok in my opinion I will say so.
The IRC rears I purchased yesterday on Mal’s recommendation (and Mal hasnt let me down yet I value his opinion) was after I warned Mal I would bring the smoking carcass back and he can use it as a necklace if its no good.
OBT has been told by one mag they cant do a ride with us and report on it because tour companies spend to much money with them, and thats their bread and butter, they said we are doing a good thing for the sport and we should keep it up at OBT but nothing from them there, so screw the average punter and OBT doesnt get a helping hand, we dont get the exposure, thats fine by me now, it used to worry me but screw it now.
