G`day Rocket ,
See ya in a couple of weeks man at the ride hey
It will be fun
Get yourself on of these ADV style rides mate,,, they can do it all
Cheers:laugh: Nice line there Mick ….
I myself will squeeze a ride in on Monday (RDO) most likely do a run down thru the Watagans to Bucketty and get an idea on a timeframe for the Birthday Ride meetup with ACE & BONES at the Convict Wall (never taken any notice of how long it takes to get there from home) I have to factor in the early morning lack of light as well
Then might hook back up Murrays Run and do Yango out to the Putty for another fun run,,,
Beats Workin` :woohoo:
Good choice & great find Scotty

Plenty of gear available for those puppies off the shelf too
It will eat up some big days in the saddle too , get out there and into it mate ,,,
Cheers
Depending on who is riding the return leg on the Sunday, other than Me & Bones,,, (Ace is returning home sat arvo)
I am looking at doing the run up to Rylstone and across the Bylong Valley , It is a scenic route that will be a quicker option for the run home if required after the weekends activities :whistle:Lunch at a pub in Denman maybe before making the call on a run thru the Comission Rd and over Yango & Watagans. Bones could split from Denman back to Singleton and that may leave me on a solo run for the rest, but that`s fine

Will see how the weekend goes (weather may play a big part) & make a call early on the sunday morning

Hey !!!!! That was my first ever ride in the dirt proper
Give it a rest will ya
I`ve seen , crossed and layed in plenty of mud since then 😆
I`d say so Nato
Not before getting lost you won`t Boonster ,,,,
You have never been to Sunny Corner SF have ya ????
Thanx Mal, That`d be great if possible..
I am fine with it, seems Ace has more road oriented rubber on the Beemer :whistle:Cheers

Bucketty is about 85k from my place and we will be coming thru the Watagans in the early light to get there ,,,
Nah I don`t have a camera mate,, feel free to bring one and capture some footage and some laughs

We will watch the weather closely on the week buildup to see how it might be on Blackfellows

If we have to miss it, it will cut some time off the run to Sunny Corner, but I would like to do the loop if possible :whistle:Suck it & see on the day, whatever happens we will have fun I`m sure

Cheers
BTW, Looks like I now have PTW on the saturday ride and the home leg on the Sunday
AWSOME :woohoo:Yep, that`s it thanks mate,,,, saves me the trouble hey (I was actually just looking for it)
There is a small fence with a sign posting the convict wall Ace, it is about 50m from the corner on the right , meet there off the main rd
I think there at 7am is ok at this stage, we have a small ride group so should be able to move along ok
Any thoughts or suggestions welcomed

At this stage i am keen to whack it all on the bike just to get the feel of the ADV bike load. I am thinking the ride is going to be mainly open fire trails – right Eagle? If not, i might take you up on the offer for the swag.

Let me see…pair of fresh undies for after the ride with Eags and Bones, 6 pack for the trip, can of tyre weld and a swag. Yeah should all fit :silly:

Happy for the early start Eagle…brrrrrrrrr  :S . You will have to give me directions to the convict wall. I will PM my mobile to you for future reference.
Cheers guys – 2 weeks to go :woohoo:
Yep, Mainly open fire trail with something of everything thrown in at times ,,,
Sandy bits, loose bits, rocky bits but all pretty easily doable on loaded bikes
Mt Irvine loop can be slippery in the wet and it had eroded a bit the past year apparently. I did it with Dejay earlier in the year in the rain & fog and it was stil a hoot

Blackfellows Hand Trail has also copped a bit of use from 4x4s recently in the wet and was reported to be ruted and slippery by some that did it at Easter with an ORE ride to Hill End (I will dig up that report and post a link)
The Convict Wall is at the intersection of George Downs Dve & Old North Road mate,,, if you need a map link or something I can sort one out for ya

Cheers
Link to the ORE ride here http://www.offroadexplorer.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=2527
(pretty much what we will be doing except the mud hopefully) only we will be departing from Blackfellows Hand Tail to the south and out near Lidsdale before the run over thru Portland
:S
YuckHope old mate heals ok Chris ,,,,
Should show that to all the geeks that ride scooters around town in stuff all clothing

Might make them think twice ,,,,,,Now that I have seen both Kat & Alyssa ride and having fun, and surely Amy was just as much fun by the looks of those pics ans vids ,,,, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A CRACKER OF A FUN DAY
Keep the good time rollin` girls
bones wrote:What leds did you fit to the 690 eagle , I was looking on ebay last night and CREE LED claim
to light up reflectors at 1 klm . Maybe a new headlight is the go and be done with it , less
weight . Adventure moto has a bulb upgrade might check that outbones
Mine are cheap Chinese options at the moment mate.
Looking to upgrade laterThe ones TB has may be a good option for you,,,, you could lead us if it gets dark then , I will follow your tail
bones wrote:Might have to get some more candles for the front of the DR for that start
eagle but all good its time I did something with it anyway.Anybody Know of a good headlight upgrade for a DR
Jeffro and the ten ????????????????
Sure will be dark mate, but would rather start in the dark than finish I think,,,,
My headlight is still crap and the LED`s are only good for lighting the trail close ahead (savings are needed to upgrade for future adventures)
We will have to make do on this ride ,,, it adds to the challenge :laugh:Cheers
