No plans as of yet but Moose said he wants a pair for his new Kato. So there is three set straight away.
Happy birthday Big fella. May all your trails be loamy and lantana free.

It is a WR alright, it has TTR forks in it though. I think it was TB he was talking to and he said that the conventional forks have less flex than the USD’s.
I have just spent the last hour studying old topo maps and google earth and I have discovered that there is a large loop in the Rock knob area that needs exploring. No doubt it would be over grown but it is definately there, so next free weekend I have, that is where I’ll be heading with a saw. It will cut out about 1km of fire trail and will add about 3-4km of single to the new loop we rode this weekend. Maybe next Sunday. I am excited already. :woohoo:
Nothing like discovering new stuff that you have ridden past heaps of times.!!
I did a 60km ride yesterday morning, when I got back I washed the XR in preparation of todays ride. I then cleaned up the chain adjusters in the swingarm of Connor’s 85 and took two links out of his chain as it has always been a bit long as he had run out of adjustment.
I then pulled the front end out of the KX65 and greased the steering head bearings only to look around and see the 85 had a flat front tyre so I then fixed that. I then dropped the oil out of the XR and gave her a service, finishing off by undoing the triple clamps and straightening her out after my little off trail foray last weekend.
When you are running three bikes most weekends, there is always some spannering to do.
I love mine, I thought my XR630 was a great bike…..untill I got my fiddy. :woohoo:
The longer you own a Big Red Pig, the more you love them.
I’ve owned and ridden a lot of bikes and nothing comes anywhere near the XR650 as the ultimate all rounder. Single track one day and holding its own on the Pacific or Oxley Hwy the next.
Unfortunately it pains me to report that Mal’s Throttle problem has come back and it appears that it was a throttle cable problem (new cable bought for the event) Subsequently the problem has caused Mal to DNF…… so his A4DE is basically over.

Bad luck Mal.
Mal5.1 almost DNF’ed before today had begun, something had gone amiss with the throttle and his slide in the carby appeared to be not working, so he failed the cold start test. With only seconds to go, before the sweeps where to head out they handed his card in. TB waved his magic wand by twisting the throttle back and forth violently and the slide freed itself and the bike started 2nd kick so they grabbed his card back and Mal took of just before the sweeps.
So both Mal and Medogrocket got away this morning. More updates during the day.
Has anyone noticed how far the brake lever is from the grip?? You’d want a big hand!! :S
Two HVMCC members are running 165 and 166 (riderhey) too
and another in 137
OBT members placings after day 1
#240 Mal5.1- 216th
#233 Medogrocket- 215th
#232 Riderhey- 166thI really was pissed off, when I lost out on winning the pub quiz by one point. The question was, “Where do women mostly have curly hair?”
Apparently it’s Africa.
Cracker pic there Bol. I love all the safety gear he has on, a bit like the stuff we wore as kids!!
Mal has just finished the last special test and is on his way back to the parc femme he has an airfilter to do and to fit the barkbuster that TB scored for him, to see an end to day 1. I was mistaken before when I reported that TB was fitting the Barkbuster.
TB also reported that Medogrocket was last seen leaning over his bike after the final stage looking very “busted arse” and not too keen to continue on.
Mal lost another 11 minutes on the 5th stage but has hit his second wind and is peddling along well. Medogrocket has recovered well from a flat tyre earlier in the day.
