It went very well and I am happy with the purchase.
She still needs a bit of a cash injection to get her into bush mode proper, she will get there eventually.
Thanks to the likes of TB and Crash, I will be privy to some good XR info,I hope.At that stage I was considering ridng the XR as a sweep rider today and I did’t see any point in washing it last night. As it turns out I didn’t ride it today, but I washed it along with Connor’s bike this arvo after the races.

BTW I am lucky it is recycling week here, as I even filled next door’s wheelie bin with empty bottles!!Please don’t say you are gunna change colours!! Here’s hoping you are going to start riding something bigger and redder!! Please don’t say you are going ORANGE!!
Here is another pic from yesterday, waiting for the ferry at Settlement point.

Sorry Puddles…If you didn’t have at least 600cc’s you would have struggled, there were lots of high speed stuff involved. We wanted to get out and have the big girls stretch their legs a bit.:woohoo:
We were in Cathie at one stage too.As a matter of fact we seemed to be everywhere today!!Crash, in all reality I have been dancing with the big girls for some time.. Trouble is, it appears I have been dancing with one of the ugly ones!!!!!
It would have to be one of the best and most varied rides I have ever been on. We encountered every type of terrain imaginable, from slick red clay hills to high tide on the beach. I got to see Moose have a slow motion sand nap…Funny as!!! I then saw one of the longest wheelies I have seen,TB cracked a beauty that had to go a good kilometer. We did some fire trails at speed, the service trail we did was great. I got to see that the Gods do actually look out for TB, when he rode head first into a water filled sink hole and ride out the other side like it hadn’t happened at all, a mere mortal would have eaten the perverbial sh*t, if it had happened to them. How he got out of that with out coming off still has me stuffed.
The new XR didn’t miss a beat and now I know why TB and Crash are so hard to stay with, I am very happy with my new XR!!
A GREAT DAY OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We were at Kundabung on our way home from a ride to Bonny Hills!!! LOL
We didn’t do much in Kundabung, we were sort of passing through. Saw some stuff that looked good but we were just travelling through on our way home from an “excellent adventure.”
Well, we got on the beers and the spanners and started the conversion from road trim to bush trim on the new XR.
We fitted a set of Renthal fatbars, radiator guards, Pivot pegs, A Michelin rear knobbie and IRC front knobbie. Removed the speedo and fitted a trip meter. The rear blinkers got torn off too.
Checked the valve clearances and put some guard stickers on her.now at least she looks ready for the Bush. WE are heading out this morning ,destination unknown at this stage. Before we took to her

Radiator guards and valves and new hangers

The rear axle was seized in and had to be flogged out before we could get rid of the road tyre

How she looks so far..

TB was a big help with this first part of the BRP’s transition and he kept cracking the whip on me even though I was more in the mood to stand around drinking beers, smoking and shooting the breeze with all the other fella’s here in the shed.
I am really stoked with the results so far and can’t wait to take her for a blast today!!You can have it back when I am finished with it….:woohoo:
Moto will be real dirty when he finds out they have gone up in price since he bought that tyre!!
Eagle,Your guess is kinda right we were on the piss in the shed and on the spanners as well. TB has transformed my street pig into a bush pig He gave me a set of radiator guards, he fitted two new tyres,a set of Renthal fat bars, pissed my indicators off, checked my valves and drank some rum.
A very productive evening indeed.Yeah I was cracking the whip on the big fella, had him working like a dog!!. The XR now looks the goods though!!It was worth the effort keeping TB on the job,it now looks like a weapon of trail destruction. The highlight of the evening was TB fitting Moto’s tyre to my my bike!!:woohoo:
The shed party saw TB, Moose, Itsagas, Tripper,The Rowan,Micknmeld and a hippy dude having a few beers, pizza and some laughs. A great Friday night in my books!! -
