I was looking for something else and found these gems. Some classic Old Bull Video from the Poker run that Toes filmed. I t was a tricky hill that caught more than one Old Bull out. I dunno what was funnier, the carnage or Toes’ mad laughing.

Tiny does it hard and Nickj makes a meal of it.

Sounds for all the world like you have leaned it out now that you are allowing more air in the the carby than it is jetted for. You will need to change the jetting if youre going to continue with the snorkel removed. I would refit the snorkel for a while. Maybe get your suspension dialed in or maybe get it setup for your weight.

    For jetting check this out

Check this out by clicking here

You maybe able to adjust some of it out with your air screw, but more than likely you will need to raise the needle by lowering the clip position at the top of the needle this will richen the mixture. The main jet will be fine because thats only wide open stuff and by the sounds you arent reaching that yet

Good luck and with jetting keep it simple ;)

Well there you go. I was trying to get 100mm between the bike sitting on the ground and then it sitting on the ground with me on it. So I should only be looking for 50mm on that measurement?

    No

    30 – 35mm static sag

    85 – 90mm Rider sag

The rear spring on your modified shock should have a free length of about 250mm. Installed in your shock you should have to wind 10mm of preload then having a spring length of 240mm. Once in the bike you should then have a static sag of around 30 – 35mm. (static is the difference between the bike sitting on the stand suspended under the bash plate with the rear wheel hanging – and the measurement between the same points with the wheels on the ground and the bike sitting under its own weight) so you are looking for about 30 – 35mm. Rider sag is the next measurement and you are looking to have around another 50 – 55mm from you static measurement giving you a total from bike suspended to it on the ground and you on it of about 85 – 90mm.

I have quickly just spoke with Nick (Tekink’s) and explained what was happening what you had done and where it was at after I had spoken with you. He was a little perplexed when I mentioned you had recently done all your suspension linkages. He said the same as me remove your wheel and remove your shock (the shock will need to come out to be sure it doesn’t catch when you check it. You need to be sure the swingarm with linkages attached (except shock) travels completely thru its travel. Like I was saying I have seen a linkage bind at a certain point because of a roller jammed. He said he had seen a spacer jam on a XR which jammed the swingarm. Are you sure the lower linkage is installed correctly, Nick said something can go in back to front or was it a spacer umm

    DSCN8310.jpg

Also check the top bolt mate they come loose mate. Not saying 100% its linkage but like you said the shock seems ok

Give me a ring tomorrow and maybe I can explain it better
