Ok so we all know there is a plan B on the table if Camerons isn’t looking good. We all understand while it may not rain the actual day we are there. If it has rained 10 to 20 mil the days before they will more than likely close the road for what could be 5 days or two weeks no one knows.

Camerons is still the A plan and will be to later this week and I hope it comes off as I have put too much into it to not do it. That said so much has gone into it I don’t want to half arse it either. I dont want to be running around from the rain like last year :( With that in mind if there is any doubt I am going elsewhere and doing some other tracks I was planning to do later. Basically a decision will be better than indecision to get ready and organised. If the ride is canned and you really still want to go or dont agree with the decision you can still go to Camerons I can supply a route for a cost
Once it’s confirmed either way it’s done, I know hindsight is 20/20 vision we can all say afterwards we should have or could have but didn’t so we won’t need to cover that hopefully ;)

Fingers crossed like Nick said :woohoo:

We also stood at Yunta and was told there was no rain in those clouds by the local, then Boulder said 10 mins worth it rained for a week, any chance of it and I am going elsewhere.

Just on the phone to my Dad and he said “you are going to Camerons soon arent you?” I said yeah why “he said you know the weather is about to go bad out there, like it did last time you tried going there”

Says a lot for whats coming if a casual observer knows the weather is turning eh?

Well it’s seems as though the Camerons Corner weather curse will strike again. It appears as though as hard as it is the believe it will be wetter than last year !!!

Three weather areas we are to visit look like this

    7b0f6a07.jpg

    7199a0df.jpg

It’s still a little bit early to make a final call but there is a fair chance this ride will be called off unless things change and we are watching and I am subscribed to the weather updates.
Just watch the thread but be aware that there is a lot of rain coming and they close the roads quicker than blink :pinch: What will happen if it’s cancelled I don’t know but I am going riding, Nick said he will go wherever. We may even slab 12hrs to BH and ride somewhere dryer.

I know no more than that

Ok, Cyril relinquished 30 minutes to the front runners on todays second stage after running second in the irst stage :S
Can`t see him reeling that back in now (45mins to the front) especially with Dakar looming at Xmas time (won`t want to risk an injury leading up to that surely)

Talk about not letting the facts get in the way of photographic evidence

I remember that first picture that’s me washing the bike and everyone admiring my bike :) they are all saying nice bike mate not a shitty old DR

Here I am showing the guys how much water gets in the bash plate when I wash it, they like me were amazed how much water it held

Nick is laughing here because I feel in the river while washing my bike, the river was deep and someone said mate you should have had a snorkel

Again Fish I haven’t seen a picture of it in the river like you say, it’s all here say at the minute

You want photographic evidence of what happens when you fail to prepare, watch this space

No worries Fish, Glad you like it ;)

On the action front, apparently Grabbo has blown an engine (number two for the event) and is limping the rest of the stage ,which is some 300klms :S

Sadly for us Novocastrians, Troy O`Connor has also blown an engine 148k into todays stage and is out !!! He is on the same CPW team as Ben

He never had an engine failure had GHR

Good thing those KTMs :pinch: :P

I read with interest your response mate  this drowning you talk off leaves me puzzled as I have seen no evidence (photo) of my bike in a creek laying down or drowned etc ;)

We will see many a creek on this ride as I doubt we will make the corner again if the weather reports are right :( my fellow nazi and I are working on different options just in case ;)

Yes I have seen said photo, real time evidence actually unlike the talk of me drowning my bike :P ;)

Maybe the birdy left the facts out, maybe not :P

    Hi All,
I have just spent the last hour reading the Cameron’s thread !!!.Boulder & I have done many adventure rides together and I agree with TB and Nick J, you must prepare your bike the best you can {But shit still happens} We will all help each other out no matter what. Before each ride the butterfly’s kick in and if that didn’t happen I’d worry. This will be a great adventure ride I have ridden with most of the guys going and am looking forward to riding with you all again as for the slower riders{ me being one of them} don’t worry just ride at your own pace and enjoy every minute of it,once the outback bites you in the bum you can’t wait to go back out there again. My bike is ready to go all work done just have to pack my panniers !! can’t waittill next week.
    Cheers fish :woohoo:

Interesting read there Fish as I will be posting something about the best YOU can do  tonight, have some interesting information ;)

You are right though because you can’t always take the EASY GIRLS option into Bilman and leave poor Boulder to ride the harder mans adventure ride like you did on the recent TK ride eh :P Lucky your brother is a real ADV rider unlike yourself it seems. So ride at your pace Fish and I will let you you know of any easy options for you to take

Thanks to a little birdy for the tip about limp fish’s recent efforts

Stay tuned for more on the Boulder brothers recent maintenance attempts on recent rides
