I didn’t mind at all but did appreciate the respect.

It’s the sneaky buggers that don’t tell you who are obviously going to then do the wrong thing

I would as a ride organiser turn away an unregoed bike on the day and couldnt give a rats arse how much they carried on. But I dont check regos if a bike looks regoed and has a plate and light etc what can you do really we arent the police or rangers we can only been seen as doing the right thing not so much enforce it.
I have seen motocrossers ripping around the bush in the Watos with a quad like gooses, half an hour later saw two DR400s with coppers on board and stopped them to tell them where the peckers heads were. That was pre Old Bull days and would do it again in a heart beat.

Get them all
Spot on Krusty !! One thing instead of sending you money to the sheep shaggers at Torpedo 7 ask your local Aussie shop if they will price match, I am sure Scott at Sutto’s will as I bought heated grips of them last week

I have also been on a paid ride where they tricked blokes into admitting they had one in their back pack too.how did they manage to trick them?
Nah nah don’t tell Mick or we can’t ever use it

Yeah go the DR Scotty its only in the back blocks on the long long dirt roads that you will wish for a bigger bike if you are happy with today’s ride.
We have ridden fully loaded with all the gear up the Beecroft track (first section I call 10 steps) so the bigger bikes can and do do it.
Add the extras you have listed and join in mate. I would have joined you on the Tenere for that loop without the gear on board and it’s a blast and very very different fast and surprisingly agile. Borrow it next RDO take it for a loop it’s insured and I trust you, it’s yours, try them all if you can and be sure. You will be surprised how good a good setup bigger bike is

Eags you have read the thread over there the 690’s have shit themselves all over the country. I hope you said that tongue in cheek mate
The 990’s and 950’s have done well but the 690’s
I am disappointed that all the hype regarding the event being near impossible and extra days would be given and only 400 odd klms of bitumen have seemed of track. Nick and I run off road all day, no stops near the limit, fire trails dirt road like the APC promised and with only a 40min lunch stop and one other 5 min fuel stop squeeze out 530kms with a 62kph average, I dont understand. I am not knocking John its the first one he has run and he is doing it thank god he is. I think it will only get better I have enjoyed watching it and wished I had now done it. We only didn’t cause we didn’t think we would get to look at anything, turns out we would of had heaps of time up out sleeves

Another 5 home today  interesting

I would expect anyone on a ride with me to let me know that they have a GPS if its isnt on a their bars. That is in no way a reflection on your post SB its just made me think. I dont use my GPS for 99% of single trail rides, like SB I am a walking GPS hence my nick name  My question is why do you need to take a GPS on a ride, say like the Coffs November ride. I think thats Scotts thing / area and if I was to go back up there would ask Scott to take me around or if he couldnt get my track info off him. I have never used one at Wauchope etc on my XR. Adventure riding is mostly riding trails I dont know in areas I dont know so I need to follow a line.
Sorry for the Scott thing KING is was a slip wont happen again

Nickj wrote:A spot trail only lasts for 7 days and I think it would be hard to retrace a single track ride via spot.
