Well I will be riding Saturday as well somewhere, thinking maybe Putty way somewhere, want to explore some old tracks we used to use a few years back. Also got a lead on a track in Yengo and another out of Ourimbah state forest or around the back of the Watagans. Will probably head up the central coast Friday night somewhere and leave sometime from there heading somewhere 😆 There will be a counter lunch of course and staying in Newcastle on Saturday night thanks for the offer Beags :)

Anyone interested in a ride somewhere on Saturday as a warm up cause I haven’t ridden since last Saturday

Hi TB ,were you able to get past the roadblock on the Bridle Track or did you have to detour around it? Sounds like a great ride.

    Cheers

    Hi Galey

They have placed big rocks etc as a way and means of blocking / closing the track but you can get through pretty easy (I did on the Tenere with bags on) but as I said to Gaz etc at Hillend if you want to ever ride the Bridle trail again do it sooner rather than later. I reckon they will get serious and block it off.

It was a good days ride Galey

If that doesn’t work Eags can I suggest two or three decent dobs on each, then a small bead around the edges to keep mud & grit out from between the two,,,,, then leave a small gap at the bottom of the bead to let any moisture out if it does get in,

Actually that’s a better idea than ours Eags, good thinking Scotty ;)

Do that Eags, do it, do it ;)

The 280 did a little end bearing  it didnt do the work of the 250 either. The 250 wasnt touched for two seasons of racing and riding and training (I was a fit little bugger then  ) That said I know people that used them but remember you are placing more stress on your engine internals that it really wasnt designed for, you get nothing for nothing in life :P

Hold it on longer, brake later and get on it earlier like Rocket said I think mate. I will buy a XR250 to restore in the next few years and will leave it as a 250 but thats just my thoughts. Maybe a 400 would be better, but nothing steers like an XR250 ;)

So Lefty it is the same as a Rekulse yeah? Whats the difference if there is one? Does it use the standard clutch plates or have a different setup?

    Photos would help :)

I reckon Rockets onto it ;) I have owned both a 250 and a 280 and the 250 never needed touching. 280 was quicker but not by enough so I never did it again.

Ballard would be the one to speak with, although Nick at Tekniks worked for Ballards in those days and was the man that built all Ballards XRs, reckon I would start there :)
