twobanger wrote:PPE worked well but have been thinking may have been better off with a pressure suit, style shoulder guard might have protected better, might have saved me using so much voltaren and panadol :laugh:Body armour is for roost protection end of story in my opinion, pressure suit offers so much more all over protection for crashing :pinch: and crash we all do from time to time 😆
At least its all good, I mean the voltaren, panadol and beer

Great read Trailboss, we were looking at fitting steering dampers but have not yet, are they worth the $$$, which would you suggest best for our purpose?
Thanks,
The best thing you can do is have your suspension done properly by Tekniks, they are the specialist with the Tenere’s now in Australia. The steering damper is the 2nd best mod I have done, Steve from Adventure Moto looked after myself and Nickj (and many other Old Bulls) See Nick’s thoughts on the suspension in the Tekniks forum in the Yamba suspension weekend thread. I couldnt imagine riding a standard suspended Tenere anymore, you guys must have had yours done?
As for the damper its a must if you are going to ride sand and you are  Steve from adventure moto gives a discount for OBT members

Bollocks Aaron is spot on treat it like a trail ride, do that and later in the event you will be amazed how many other iron man you ride past. Watch them all go bull at a gate at the start, crash out or burn out

The thermo fan has rubbed thru a couple of tubes he was saying, think he mumbled bloody orange shitboxes  ( that may not be technically correct but it’s my story  )

Will post a photo later tonight Ollie in a different thread. I will continue to use my trailer most of the time not because of the height really just ease and my gear can go in the back onits own and stay dry

No not all Mick you dill  you know better but I guess your looking after your pasting here
But if she wants to go to Berrima or the likes that will be all bitumen back roads well any old tyre will do. Sometimes we go to the markets on Sunday mornings and the bike is perfect because she can’t buy stuff all cause we cant carry it
I also keep worn rubber on it most times because I use it to run around as it’s easier to park
When we did the ride to Yamba which was mostly dirt I fitted new tyres naturally

Yeah no worries I am always looking for old tyres for different rides with Salina etc
