I was with an Old Bull last Friday, he bought up at Sutto’s, the bill was over 700 bucks and it was rounded down with the Old Bull’s discount to 600 bucks, bloody bargain I reckon.

    Thanks Mal

A quick note here as well Sutto’s have a new junior staff member young Jay. Jay is very helpful and has recently been doing the pricing for Nickj for his Camerons trip and I know that Nick was happy with Jay

Some distances that I know (from google)

Lake Munmorah – Braithwaite park Wyong 25km
Braithwaite park to Ourimbah SF, Yarramalong, Cedar Brush Creek, Murrays Run then Laguna 63km
Laguna to Howes Valley via Yengo and Howes valley trail 48km
Howes Valley to Putty Valley Rd. 25km

Don’t know the distance from Putty Valley Rd to Denman???
Hey Kat, what sort of distance do you get from your standard tank? Carry an empty coke bottle and we would be able to transfer fuel. If Krusty says its 125km from Putty Valley rd to Denman and its 73km from laguna to PVR then 200km would be the range (provided Laguna store is open for fuel). Shit its going to be another BIG day, better get my Airhawk seat organized

    Mick

Hi Mick…. Crowded eh? It will be hard to take it easy but I would rather go easy then miss out on the corner.. ;)

I have a really good idea from TB on the route from Wyong to the putty rd so I’ll map it just to get the kilometers.. At-least we will know a good estimate of the K’s before hand…

There also seems to be some concern about accessing the commission rd via Applet Tree Flat.. I suggested we return that way for something different… We could always go left at raspberry junction on the return which will take us to the commission rd as well…

    Cheers…
    Chris………..

(If time beats me I will just go for a spin on the Tenere somewhere as its just sitting there ready and doesnt require as much effort to trailer there etc :P )

Well as things have worked out I have just per run 90% of the actual route from Condo to Broken Hill in the Indian Pacific :P . I logged the the trip in the new Garmin and have to say when the sun came this morning and the route presented itself I was frothing at the window. It will be an amazing ride the route following the line from Menindee was awesome, it drops in and out os sandy dry creek beds, rises, fast straights, sand, off camber corners just an amazing step on the pegs and wheel it ride.

I checked out a pub in the hill and have an idea of running to the border towards SA before heading up to Silverton as the ride looks phat

I will post some photos later in the week but I got say if I was excited before I am more excited now

No one was doubting your ability, speed or maths prowess mate just talking averages is all  It always surprises me how slow the average is when I have been riding, but then I am just slow :) :P

Ah the written word strikes again I think ;)

I will go and cook dinner

I reckon SB would be very surprised what his average speed is. Most enduro bikes I know, even counting blokes that race are lucky to get an average speed of over 40 km/hr.

I’m not sure how much difference a cush drive makes but riding a standard wr on the tar at a constant speed even feels wrong. I guess this would change a bit if my bike was geared for tar speeds.

    .

Be very careful stating information about someone you don’t know, I know what my averages are. I did say my bike had been held wide open for long periods though. Unlikely anyone would do this for any period of time using it as an ADV ride. With the correct gearing they will happilly sit on 120k

If you want to try a cush Drive WR you are more than welcome to try mine. I have done an 500km ADV ride on my old WR without Cush with motard wheels & I know the difference.

I am with Bundy (sorry SB :( ) You would be surprised by you average speed and how slow in can be when in fact you think you are flying. Take Yellow mountain this year for yourself. Its say with the sections cut out 420kms total, you did it in a total time of 6hrs and 21mins. That give you an average speed of 67.63kms per hour. Having raced Yellow mountain myself a few times I would have thought it was faster then that. Finke would be the only average faster speed event that I have seen. An average single track day cab be in the 20’s or 30’s.

    Sorry TB

So everybody doesnt front Condo with a massive parts kit on the trip I will pack one for the support vehicle to carry on all our behalf..

If people can pair up with a trip buddy and share a filter oil and maybe a chain lube that will reduce space. I will provide the filter cleaning liquid

I will pack cleaning containers in the tub for the filters and oil changes as well
