Quote:the first front flat was replaced with a Kenda heavy duty i was carrying, it was flat also by the time i got back to the van..What pressure did you put in it when you fixed it? Was only inflated with a can of finny leak or the likes I read. So not knowing the pressure you had in it would make it hard to say why you got a second flat. Maybe you pinched the tube when fitting or like Mick said there is something in there causing the flat.

Bridgestone or Michelin ULTRA heavy duty tubes mate, Sutto’s has the Michelin’s on special if that helps
You could get away with a little more pressure then most as well Drew being the fuller Aussie male

Quote:You also have to remember that there are different setups required for different peoples weights and riding style/types. There is no perfect setup for all people so they just go medium asian size rider I reckonNot all riders would want or benifet from the good gear or wish to pay for it. In a DR’s case how many get the suspension done up for the rider correctly you reckon out of every 10 I reckon maybe 2. And then like Jeffro said pick a weight, maybe you could order one wouldnt be cheap  Its life get Tekniks to do it worth the cost and effort

$220 is good I reckon, then there is just the relacing which is easy as well
Genuine Honda 650R $295 bare hub
TB
You knunkle heads  . The answer to Gotowo’s question was Suzuki dont do decent because of cost (other manufacturers included except Honda
) Its not about Tekinks or costs on the weekend
Tekniks did everything free I thought

You only need lace it and away you go or is it a complete wheel? Have you tried the KTM shops they may have hubs from new ones they have blinged / pimped?
Suttos have wheels sets, DNA I think, well they used to have a few of them

Quote:I have seen this happen on a few occasions where the chain has been run too tight and as the shock compresses the chain tightens and causes the hub to crack. :SMick
Thats why I asked where it has cracked as I have seen the same on a KTM and the guy that showed me said it wasn’t the first KTM he had seen because of an overtight chain. Which if I remember right would tie in with the leaking counter-shaft seal dramas you have had Rocket because of an over-tight chain maybe?? (If it was you  )

Quote:Do you think grip heaters would be useful on this ride ?Ummm cant see them hurting  If its cold in the morning hell yeah if its not then no
Seriously I have them on my bike but if I didnt I wouldnt fit them for this ride  I only ever really use them on really cold winter morning rides
I got mine from Sutto’s were really cheap and easy to fit, just pay particular attention to how and where you mount the resistor. I have noticed a few people have had problems with the resistor or resistors ends breaking. Take the time mount it properly and its happy days. Oh yeah also put a couple of layers of heat shrink on the left side bar, heat shrink it on nice and tight, then stick the grip heater pad on and then the grip. This insulates the metal bar and the grip will operate at the same temperature as the throttle heated grip which is insulated by plastic throttle tube
Hope that makes sense

Where is it cracked Rocket?
Yes mate I know was only passing comment, you have done nothing wrong and no one is picking on you mate

So then there was 10, Bollocks the master chef was going to inspect the chuck wagon this arvo I think.
I got my gas bottle, GPS bracket (for the new Garmin I purchased) , cigarette power plugs and a new all metal switch with water proof cover for the grip heaters

So our first withdrawal I thought maybe this ride may have had no withdrawals to tell the truth
